This really is a lovely tasty dessert when in need of that post dinner craving for something sweet. Mixes very well and turns into a thick custard, first time was perhaps a little thick but next time will add a little more than the recommended 150ml of preferred liquid (water or milk). After heating in the microwave at 20 second increments (too much and gets very thick and gooey), sit back and enjoy either on its own or over a lean dessert of choice. Nice one MyProtein!Goes Well With:Anything you desire
When I was prepping for a show my cravings got wild and this was a life saver. The convience and taste was awesome. Such a great treat to have ready to go in minutesGoes Well With:Any desserts
Was excited to try the custard mix because I've a killer sweet tooth thats hard to keep in check when i'm cutting. At first I ignored the instructions and tried to make it with a kettle, it was really lumpy. 0/10 would not recommend. Second time I made it as instructed and used a food processor. Was surprised by how custard like the consistency was, tasted pretty good and was nice to get the feeling of being 'over full' that you don't get that much when cutting. Goes Well With:I had it hans solo
I bought this to go with the protein mug cake mix to satisfy those times when I need something that lasts longer than my usual '2 squares of dark chocolate' fix but is lower calorie and has protein in it. I have yet to make the mug cake in a satisfying way but the custard I was pretty impressed with. I bought the vanilla one so that I can add cocoa powder in the future but I'm not stuck with everything 'chocolate' flavour, and often chocolate can be pretty artificial tasting. I mixed it with a fork which worked well and although heating per instructions - I needed to heat a couple more times to make it as hot as I'd like, I measured it out and had it with skimmed milk and diced mango pieces. I would say that from now on I will try it in half measures but only because I don't usually need much goo with stuff. Last night I actually had real custard out of the blue, and I would say compared - this one has a tiny tiny bit of the 'protein powder tang' but I don't think that can be avoided and it's not as yellow as the real thing, I also found that it worked well hot or cold but just warm was a little sickly - I usually find that with soup too though so it could just be me. To me, at this stage I would definitely recommend it as a warming alternative to yoghurt/cream/custard. As I'm the first reviewer, I will be curious to see how others find it :)Goes Well With:Cake, Fruit, Desserts in general or just on its own
