Ordered the vanilla flavour oats as I thought it would be a good base flavour if I wanted to add bits in. The porridge is easy to mix, just add hot water, though I use less than stated as I prefer mine slightly thicker. Only down side is it's SOOOO sweet. Seriously guys, cut back on the sweetener. Not sure if I will order more unless the recipe changes.
A decent protein porridge, a bit too sweet for my taste and I would prefer an unflavoured option but does what it says on the packet.
Bought a sample packet of this with my last order, just to try. I really thought I'd made a mistake when mixing it, it was like powdery water with some token oats thrown in. Even my 2 hens, that usually refuse no food group decided to turn their beaks up and march off. Pity, I was looking forward to seeing them in some kind of protein fuelled bikini competition posing their feathers off. Goes Well With:The inside of the bin
Been having it for breakfast for the past month. Great taste ( vanilla flavour ) and very convenient.
Usually don't leave reviews, but this porridge was one of the worst tasting supplement products I've encountred! The product comes like most of the MP products, in a bag, with seperate pouches (a bit like the 'oat so simple' boxes). This is good as it allows you to be more mobile with your breakfast. This is about as good as the product got. The cooking instructions are vague to say the least. They give an appox amount of boiling water to add to the product, but that's about it. There is no indicaction on how long to leave it before serving or if any further preperation is required. The first bowl of porridge I had ended up in the bin. The texture was disgusting, felt like soggy, clumps of partially cooked oats. The taste was just as bad. The sweetner they used in the golden syrup flavour was horrible - far too sweet & but mixed with water the whole bowl just tasted minging! I've tried several times to try and make this edible (mainly because I have 40 sachets that I need to try and use). I've tried cold water & in the microwave, to try and cook the oats some more this worked with the texture but the watery taste still made it difficult to finish the bowl. I've also tried it with milk. This helps with the taste, but makes it more difficult to mix. Either option is always overshaddowed by the over powering, uneccesary sweetness from the sweetner. Overall, if there was a way around making the texture slightly better and getting away from that horible watery taste - I MAY be tempted to go with the 'Original' flavour; but if I think I will stick to putting a scoop of Impact Whey into my 'Oat So Simple' each morning.....Goes Well With:Nothing
This is a really great tasting product - you need to work out the right amount of water so that it's not too watery though!
Great product but avoid the banana flavour Goes Well With:Water
I love this product and I'm slowly but surely making my way through all the flavours. I've read below some negative reviews and not really understanding why people don't like it... but I figured it out. Don't make this with boiling water! I tried it and the consistency was so dodgy so I understand the negative reviews! I use cold water and then heat in in the microwave and it's perfect everytime! Simply delicious! Goes Well With:Flax seed
I ordered 40 sachets of the Golden Syrup flavour without reading the reviews which was a huge mistake. It's such a horrible flavour I could barely eat one of the sachets let alone the other 39! It has such a sweet and artificial taste I couldn't even force myself to eat it after spending all that money on it. I think it mixes ok, I put milk in and stir it, then more milk and in the microwave for 1 min 30 and it comes out fairly thick but it's a shame it's inedible Goes Well With:Nothing
The taste is great but I did found that using the amount of water recommended made for a very horrid watery mixture. I put less water in for a thicker porridge. But that's my taste. For a breakfast the portion size is great when I add a smoothie too The package comes in one bag but with 40 individual sachets inside. This was a great surprise and for someone who often eats at work it's perfect!! Goes Well With:I've added a bit of extra chocolate whey to thicken up
I can't believe, looking at the runny lumpy mess in a bowl in front of me, that people have scored this well. This is basically inedible. The oats don't seem to soften, the powder just forms into clumps and the whole thing tastes like runny candyfloss. I'm so disappointed in this product, am I doing it wrong? the instructions say simply add 150-250ml of water and presto but that surely can't be right!! maybe the people who gave this five stars have a secret of how to not make it look like pink upchuck??? Sae yourself the horror, go to the shops, by some nice porridge oats and add a sprinkle of your own powder to it. It will turn out a thousand times better than this slop.Goes Well With:The bin.
This is rank smells like paint tastes like 💩 it's like eating sick don't bother Goes Well With:Nothing
Tastes like a really watery protein shake with a few bits of oats.Goes Well With:Nothing
I bought the banana flavored ones but when you microwave it bubbles over the bowl, tastes good but the oats are hard and it gets watery and start to congeal, not great... Honestly I recommend just buying normal cheap porridge and mixing in a scoop of protein after heating it up, been doing it with double chocolate the last few months and its great, way cheaper and better tasting, just needs more milk for consistency.Goes Well With:breakfast
I purchased the chocolate porridge on the understanding that it would taste like many of the other My Protein products which I am totally happy with, but these protein porridges have one of the worst tastes ever. Barely edible. Really should have read other peoples reviews, as I'm not the only one who feels this way. Goes Well With:The Bin
Got the Golden Syrup flavour, its really nice and wôrks well.Goes Well With:Milk
The flavour is quite nice to be honest and the added protein a bonus, however the instructions 'pour on 150-200ml boiling water' doesn't do anything, just oats in coloured water. After microwaving like you would with oats so simple for example, it went very bitty with hard oat pieces... Any suggestions on a decent prep method... Will try it with milk next...
Great when mixed in a pan on the hob. Turns lumpy quickly so a low heat is recommended. Really tasty and filling. Love it :-)Goes Well With:Aldi,s frozen fruit
Great tasting porridge that's full of protein, what more could you want!
