Coming from ON Casein, this was a really hard drop. The mixability is poor - half the shaken product is hard-to-drink foam and the other half is liquid interspersed with grainy powder. The taste is one of the worst I have ever had in a protein shake - it feels chemical-y and the smell is enough to gross you out. Not everything is doom and gloom however, I found its effectiveness to be quite decent in aiding muscle recovery. Bottom line - would only recommend if you want to go with a cheap casein powder.Goes Well With:Nothing
This is a really effective product, especially after late-hour gym visits before sleep. I wish it was a little easier to mix with water, but that's ok. Goes Well With:Impact whey isolate after late-night workouts.
This plain unflavoured version is best when making protein pancakes. Ideal when cooking. Drinking the stuff can be a bit difficult unless you’re a fan of chalk. If you are new buy a small quantity and try it first. If you are using it as a before bed shake, go for a flavour. If you think you can add flavour, good luck with that. Goes Well With:Mixing up to make pancakes.
good for evening shakes and good value for money.
Macros for the vanilla are pretty good for this product. The vanilla flavour is standard, probably my go to for most myprotein products just because you can rarely go wrong with it. Also goes really well with some stevia banana drops. It mixes better in a blender rather than with a shaker, it just tastes a bit too gritty for my taste in a shaker. Mixes well in porridge if you use no more than half a scoop. Any more than that and it clumps - might just be that I've had a bad batch but this batch seems to clump too easily compared to other powders I've had (impact whey, little beasts chocolate shake). Goes Well With:Skimmed milk Water Porridge
When i order a casein product i expect a protein shake that is thicker than whey in consistency when mixed. This product manages to be even thinner than whey,so the feeling full part of the product is completely non existent. Taste wise it's decent, nothing special but not terrible. I've had way worse. I got the chocolate flavour. The consistency of the product is where is falls completely flat. With the consistency of flour it sticks to everything. The inside of the scoop, your hands, your shaker bottle, everything. Be prepared to spill it all over the place if you have a blender bottle as the scoop that comes with it is comically large, that combined with the flour-like consistency spells for a complete nightmare. That being said, you get what you pay for. I just won't be paying for it again.
Get a flavoured one or mix it with something because it tastes a bit off but overall very good product! I take it in the morning and keeps me full all the way until lunch. Highly reccomend it!
This mixes really well with water. It is great tasting and massively helps with recovery. Definitely recommend it. The powder is really fine so no matter what protein shaker you use it will mix in well. Goes Well With:Water
Hi I made a order which included Micellar Casin (chocolate) after reading many reviews and I liked the Impact Whey Protein in chocolate so assumed it would be the same, I was soooooo wrong. I have tried this 3 days in a row, as described on the packaging and firstly the taste is not like whey protein chocolate at all and it also has a strange smell which i cant describe. Secondly it doesn't mix well at all no matter how long you shake it for, still powdery. Thirdly, its giving me stomach muscle cramps therefore unable to sleep and need to visit the bathroom often. I have tried this with both water, milk and a mixture of both. The shake is so thick that i could have used a spoon! This is the first time i have used this product and will most def be the last. Im not sure if the other flavours would be the same but I wouldn't recommend this product at all. I have spoken to customer services who say nothing is wrong with the product and to seek medical advice!
After reading many positive reviews about Micellar Casein I decided to buy the chocolate flavour thinking it would be the same taste as the Impact Whey Protein in chocolate. I was completely shocked to find it wasnt. Impact whey protein in chocolate is very nice, with milk and water. Micellar Casein in chocolate smells odd, and tastes odd with both water or milk. It states to use over one scoop of powder but this makes the shake so thick that i needed a spoon to "eat" it! I dont know how i will ever use up 2.5kgs of this stuff however I wouldnt recommend the chocolate, not sure what the other flavours taste like. Disappointed.
I got the vanilla flavour mostly mixed it with either almond milk or water. Taste is good some time i blend it a banana for extra texture. I used it a month a long with whey protein, my aminoboost and i see a difference.
This protein powder is very fine so it doesn't mix well. It is very chalky (like a waxy maize) and gets all over your clothes. I won't be buying again.Goes Well With:Nothing
First time using casein? If you use this like I do, then you will like it. If you don't you'll probably hate it. What you need to know. 1. Texture of the stuff is totally different and harder to mix (e.g. getting it from the scoop to the mixer) 2. If you mix it in a old school protein shaker - the texture will be like diarrhoea and you will regret buying this product... However.... 3. If you mix it in a blender, you will get a texture just like a nice, warm hot chocolate. I hated this product until I read somewhere to use an electronic blender or smoothie maker for this product - and I need to tell you, they were right. I put 300 ML water + 2 heaped scoops of protein in my blender (around 45-50g of night time protein until you're asleep) and turn blender on for around 3-5 minutes. As long as the heat from the machine warms up the liquid, it will be just lot hot chocolate. Once you've had it it will keep you relatively full. If you feel really bloated and you start feeling sickly it means you're lactose intolerant, so I wouldn't' personally use if it plays with your belly. Enjoy. Highly recommend. Goes Well With:On it's on before bed - I do intermittent fasting,
Purchased this by accident. I should have got the Elite version which is more expensive. After it arrived I compared both versions both the nutritional and ingredient listings on the back of the bag are exactly the same and I'm now struggling to see what the difference is between the regular Casien powder and Elite Casien powder (more expensive) is. Both powders seem exactly the same. If anyone can shed any light on my issue I'd appreciate it.
Great take after gym, taste could be improved...
I can only compare this to normal whey protein, the powder is very fine, mixes very well but taste of nothing (unflavored). I find it tends to go everywhere!Goes Well With:Most things
I love this product. I've been using it years and keep coming back for more. Great flavour, texture, mixes easily and good for cooking. Bedtime milkshake, 30g micellar casein, handful of ice, 150-200ml water. Add to blender and pulse until mixed. To make it creamier make with milk or add 100g Greek yoghurt 😋 Alternatively to make hot chocolate, 30g micellar casein, 200ml almond milk, 100ml water, 1 heaped teaspoon of raw cacao. Mix in shaker and pour into mug. Microwave for 1 minute, stir and heat for a further minute. Goes Well With:Milk, water, Greek yoghurt, egg
Tastes grade, mixes well. Put this stuff in milk and you've got yourself a naughty milkshake.Goes Well With:Milk
First time using casein so I never thought that the texture would somehow be powdery. Price is unbeatable unlike other brands.
Bought 2 bags of the vanilla, giving one away.. I hate the masses of foam generated in the mixing, don't like the flavour and I don't like the texture. I always mix with water so bear that in mind but this is my least favourite casein I have ever tried, I know that flavour is secondary but nowadays there is no reason to use a product you really dislike. could never reccomend this product.
