I used to love these before the recipe change. They now have worse macros but more importantly they have changed in both taste and texture. They used to be like tough nougat with subtle creamy flavours, and they are now softer in texture with a harshness to the flavours and a kind of greasiness. Big fan of Myprotein, used them for years for most of my supplements. Just wish they hadn't changed these. They where pretty unique on the market.

But burnt sugar, Marmite, peanuts and wood are as close as I can get to a fitting description. Not for everyone, definitely not for me, but edible. Goes Well With: Skull crusher coffee

I have been buying the peanut ones for a couple of years and loved them. Recently bought two boxes and the taste and texture has completely changed. I actually had to spit it out. Trying to get a refund - happy to send them back although the only place they should go is the bin - and getting that they have to investigate with production. Obviously the "new and improved" is definitely not working looking at all the reviews.

I've had plenty of protein bars over the years from MP and other brands, so this is not one of those "ew, all protein bars are nasty" reviews – I'm a big fan of MP's layered ones actually. Having now bought 3 different flavours of these Light Bars (Speculoos, Cookies & Cream, and Chocolate), I can safely review each. Some things they all have in common: - Dense texture, sometimes hard to chew. Can be helped by microwaving for 15-20 secs - Good macros. I love the high fibre content, which keeps me full for hours. - Lack of flavour. These have to be the blandest protein bars I've ever had. They don't taste bad...they just don't really taste of much at all... Speculoos: the worst of all, barely tastes anything like it should, almost smells of peanuts(?) when you first open the wrapper, largely flavourless to be honest Cookies & Cream: probably the best, has actual flavour though still very bland Chocolate: pretty inoffensive but again lacking a lot of flavour I'd recommend them if you know what you're getting yourself into, i.e. doing it for the macros not the experience. Goes Well With: Microwave, a drink of water as they're pretty dry & tasteless

If your following a low carb diet these are not any good to you anymore compared to the old bars. Carbs have nearly trebled compared to the old ingredients. Taste wise I preferred the more chewy ones before aswell. Need to start checking ingredients before ordering, lesson learnt. New and improved formula apparently treble the carbs  !!  and same protein content !!! Beware
