I'm on the keto diet and was given a bag of this to try from my friend who wasn't sure about them. When opening and draining the bag, I smelled a fishy smell and assumed it was the tuna mayo in my lunchbox next to me, but after reading other reviews I'm thinking it was the rice. I added it to a keto curry and honestly would've preferred it either with cauliflower rice or nothing at all. It's chewy and jelly-like and not a good substitute for rice, not as much as cauliflower rice anyway IMO.

Yes, it might smell a bit when you open the pack, but give it a rinse with water and chuck it in the pan and it will pick up the flavour of what ever you mix it with. It also fills you up! Goes Well With: stir fry

Wow, I was shocked that this is good :) Although smelling really fishy and looking not very aesthetic, after rinsing and a good two minutes in the pan, it really just soaked the flavours around and was amazing with tomato sauce and chicken. Will be a staple for me! Goes Well With: Any kind of tasty, spicy food

Whenever I crave for rice and on keto, this is my go to alternative. Definitely not like steamed rice when eaten alone. This is very much palatable when made as a fried rice, but you need to get rid of the excess water first: To get rid of the fishy smell and excess water, rinse them very well with cold water in a colander and squeeze well after. Then I dry fry them in a non stick pan until all the excess water evaporates. They'll start popping when it is too dry now, you'll have to watch out that it is not very dry. Then start adding your toppings for your fried rice. Filling and much delicious! Goes Well With: Minced veggies and meat
