Two former World’s Strongest Men are set to go head-to-head in their debut boxing match later this year in what’s been dubbed the “heaviest fight in history”.

Game of Thrones star Hafthor ‘Thor’ Bjornsson and Eddie ‘The Beast’ Hall have been training to make the transition to the boxing arena for a while now, but as we close in on the final 12-weeks, training is getting serious.

Eddie has spent the last year and a half maintaining his strength and size, all whilst learning how to box. Having got the core boxing training down, in his latest YouTube video he says that now “it’s all about fine-tuning the body”.

"It’s about sharpening up so the balance is perfect between strength, endurance, agility and focus."

The fight was originally set to take place in Las Vegas, however after the venue in Vegas “wouldn’t play ball” when it came to fight rules, they’ve relocated to Florida – location TBC.

"I think it would have ended up with us wearing headguards, 20oz gloves and probably three  rounds, which, nobody wants to see me and Thor wear headguards – that would just be a laughing stock."

Take Home Message

With the fight just 12 weeks away, the excitement and tension are already building. We can’t wait to watch these two athletes make history and show off what they’ve learnt in the last year of training. Although we respect Hafthor’s undeniable talent, we have to be honest, we’ll be backing our boy Eddie all the way. Especially after we watched him punch bodybuilding pro Ryan Terry...
