It’s a nice taste to it, doesn’t mix well with the almond milk I tried it with but it mixed well with water though I had to add a little more that was suggested on the pack as it turned into a mousse with the suggested amount.Goes Well With:Water and fruit
No matter whether mixed with a milk alternative or with water it's so thick it's more like Angel delight and sticks to the bottle. When adding more liquid it's still too thick & impossible to drink in such a high volume and the flavour (chocolate) is so horrible it makes you feel sick after a few mouthfuls. Neither myself or my partner could stomach it, a waste of money and would highly recommend to avoid
Purchased the vanilla as well as the plain flavour soy protein and have been really impressed. Main reason for the review though is I was concerned about the taste being awful based on others experiences however, I prefer it personally - the plain is not great but I mix it with flavour drops however the vanilla, to me, is genuinely tasty. They don't mix as easily but I've found with a little more water it's not a problem and goes quite creamy (but not rich or sickly) Goes Well With:Water and being well mixed
I got the Matcha flavoured soy protein as I really like green tea. Have to say that this product is great! Mixes well in the shaker with water and oat milk. Taste good too with no lumps in it. Will buy more in the future. Compared to other products I’ve tried, this is the best so far. Goes Well With:Oat milk and water
I bought the strawberry cream variety and mixed it with a fair amount of water. When you shake it it gets thick and creamy, and has a yummy strawberry flavour. A delicious dairy-free alternative to usual watery whey shakes!Goes Well With:Water
Really thick and not a great taste.
I moved to the soy protein as too much dairy was causing me some minor but irritating side effects. I had previously used the whey in unflavoured, natural vanilla, natural chocolate and cinnamon roll (so tasty in porridge btw). The soy version is ok, it serves a purpose and tastes "not bad" but the vanilla flavour isn't anywhere near as strong as the whey version. I've tried adding vanilla extract to try enhance this but without much success so my next order with MyProtein will include some of the flavour drops. I mostly use this in smoothies and it does appear to be much thicker than the whey but I just add some water and this loosens it up
As a vegetarian celiac, I was looking for a protein power to supplement my training and diet. I am a big fan of the vanilla flavour. I like to combine 1 spoon of protein with 3 tablespoons of cacao powder, which makes it taste sort of like a chocolate milkshake. I have tried the 'chocolate smooth' flavour, but it was too sweet for my liking. Some of the reviews on this product are quite negative about the consistency. As I have never tried whey protein I can't really compare, but the consistency is not a problem to me. I usually put the water in first (about half a shaker bottle for one portion of protein), followed by the protein powder (and the cacao powder) and lastly the ball. First, I shake the shaker horizontally a couple of times (so it mixes a little bit and the powder doesn't get chunked up at the lid) before shaking it vertically. Doing it this way has never caused me any issues with nasty chunks or anything. All in all a good product that I've happily been using for about a year now.Goes Well With:Cacao powder, overnight oats
I bought the strawberries & cream flavour and have previously bought soy protein powders and know they aren't as liquidy as whey - they tend to be rather thick and it can feel off-putting if you try to have it as a drink. I made it first using the recommended amount of water and my first thoughts were that the the taste was great, albeit rather sweet, and that it was really, really filling as a drink, leaving me feel rather bloated. However, I now have this as a guilt-free, high protein pudding in the evening when my sweet cravings kick in after dinner. I fill the blender with about 7-10cm (no more) of water first (this is important otherwise it's impossible to clean it afterwards!), then add one & a quarter scoops of the powder. Blend it, and if it's too thick to even come out of the blender, add a teeny bit of water and blend again. I then quickly empty it into a v.small bowl/dish and put it in the fridge to 'set'. I then have it after dinner as a pudding, eating it like Angel Delight (as another reviewer said). I sometimes add oats as a crunchy topping or cinammon, or blend it with some cacao powder for added magnesium. As a low calorie pudding it's delicious - might try the chocolate one next! Goes Well With:a spoon as the perfect high protein, low calorie after-dinner pudding
The strawberry cream flavour is easily the best vegan/diary free protein I have found. I use water to mix but taste and has the consistency of a strawberry milkshake! Amazing!! Goes Well With:Water
It has a very bad taste and almost impossible to mix. Not recommended.
Great product! I was a little sceptical at first but it not only tastes great helps to ensure I get my daily protein. It is a lot thicker than other powders I have had before which took me a little by suprise. Also requires a very good shake to mix, as the powder can sometimes stick to the shaker. I would definitely buy again.Goes Well With:Water
I've cut dairy out of my diet in the last six months and switched to these Soy Protein powders instead of whey and don't really notice the difference. Can't knock it for the price per kg and grams of protein per scoop in comparison to other non-dairy powders. Definitely had whey powders that taste worse than these do. Had chocolate and strawberry cream first time around, gonna buy the chocolate again but skip the strawberry this time. Will switch it up for vanilla that I can maybe add fruit to instead. TIP- Put some water in your shaker first, then add your powder, then top up with water...this stops it from clumping or sticking to the bottom edges of your shaker. 1x 30g serving with 500ml of water is a good consistency, any less water and I find it too thick. But after a hard workout of cardio and lifting I need to replace water anyway so this is no problem for me.
I personally love this. It’s nice to have a plant based protein powder. I have vanilla and it’s ok, but is best mixed with something else otherwise it’s a bit too plain. Will personally probably buy a different flavour next time. The only issue I have personally is I find it doesn’t mix great, there tends to be lumps floating about. However, overall, I love the product. Goes Well With:Soya milk and a banana blended together.
This is not a drink it is so thick and you will need a spoon! The taste is disgusting! Such a waste of money. I contacted My Protein and they said it meets standards.... what a joke!
An excellent source of High Quality Protein at a very good price. Mixes well with milk but recommend mixing with a chocolate/strawberry milk powder as the unflavoured version is yukky. A wide amino acid profile for muscle growth and also satisfies hunger for those trying to diet.Goes Well With:Milk(dairy) and nesquik.
Product is unflavored so it's versatile enough to use in a variety of ways, I like to add it to drinks, or use with breakfast cereal, so don't want it flavored. It's a good level of protein, 27g for a 30g scoop, compared to other veggie options like hemp that don't offer as much protein per gram. I've only just started to use it so I don't know quite the effectiveness of it for me at the moment, however I'm confident that with the increased protein, i'm going to enjoy the benefits aesthetically. In terms of other benefits, after a recent full body inflammatory response to super hard build up and then mammoth session. So I increased my use of this Soy Protein to aid recover and i'm convinced that it helped cut recovery time down to 4 days. That's 6 days quicker from when I had the same inflammatory response in November. On the not so good side, Soy Protein Isolate doesn't mix that well and even after shaking for a fair amount of time, it's still a bit lumpy. Goes Well With:Mixing with drinks and having on cereal.
I bought the strawberry cream and I just can't get past the taste, it is horrible and thick.
One of my favourite proteins. Mixes thick and smooth (REALLY thick if you add less liquid- I use unsweetened almond milk- and put it in the blender. You get guilt free chocolate mousse!! Great after a long workout. Also keeps me full slightly longer than other powders. Also I’m allergic to stevia. So love the fact that I can still get a veggie protein that doesn’t use it as a sweetener- just because it’s ‘natural’ doesn’t always mean it’s better! For me, this stuff is great- I can’t be without it.Goes Well With:A hard training session... Or a a spoon if you make it thick and want angel delight!!
Poor, very thick when mixed and basically impossible to drink. Like a thick syrup.
