What does Protein Pancake Mix taste like?

How do I prepare Protein Pancake Mix?

  1. Scoop 50g of powder into a mixing bowl.
  2. Add 65ml of your favourite plant milk and whisk to a smooth paste.
  3. Heat a non-stick frying pan over a low /medium heat and lightly oil as required.
  4. Using a large spoon or scoop drop 3 even lots of pancake mix into the pan.
  5. Cook on the first side for 2 mins before flipping over using a spatula
  6. Cook for a further 2 mins or until golden brown.
  7. Serve with a choice of toppings.

Pancake

This is the best pancake mix I’ve tried. They come out so fluffy and light. Wouldn’t even have known it had protein in

Loved it!

This was great! So easy to make quickly in the morning. The batter does need a good stir, and sometime not using all the liquid advised but adding it little by little is more effective. I would buy again!

Best vegan pancakes I’ve had!

Easy to mix, not sure if the packet was miss printed but it said 600cal something per 100g but on website says 131cal (I could have miss read it) easy to make, they cook well not mushy at all, goes great with banana and vegan chocolate spread. 100% recommend and will be getting more

Not fluffy, kinda mushy?

I had tempered my expectation before sampling this vegan pancake mix, and I’m glad I did: mushy pancakes no matter what I tried. Crispy on the outside and mushy inside - they just wouldn’t cook! I’m a pretty skilled cook and I make my own protein pancakes often, and I followed the instructions closely, so I doubt it was anything I did… perhaps the product would benefit from more leavening, and binding agent like xantham gum. Having read the ingredients, I must say that using fava bean flour is a strange choice as it isn’t really going to “fluff up” properly. Fava bean flour is good for flatbreads, tortillas, crackers, pasta, and other non-rising food products. The resulting mixture cooked just like psyllium husk (which I’ve used in the past to make better pancakes than these). I encourage MP to reformulate the product using a flour that binds properly like buckwheat or quinoa. I might buy a sample again in future and try adding different ingredients to see what helps.  I ended up eating them anyway and they tasted fine! They went well with the MP zero sugar syrup. For reference, I bought the chocolate flavour mixture, so it also contained cocoa which may affect how the product cooks. Maybe the vanilla flavour performs better?

They are brilliant!!!

Just follow the instructions and maybe add some cinnamon for taste - they're so good!!

Best vegan pancakes ever

I suspect the others in the comments haven’t properly followed the two-step instructions for these…Hands-down the BEST vegan pancake mix I have ever tried (and I’ve tried a few). I can’t speak for other flavours but the vanilla one is *chef’s kiss* I eat them everyday and the only gripe I have is that they are always sold out.

It Doesn’t Work

Taste is ok, but it simply doesn’t form in to pancake when cooked. It just becomes a hot mushy mess.

Worst breakfast ever

I'm amazed how you can create a product that can cook itself till burnt yet feel like it hasn't cooked at all when eating it. Somehow making two pancakes took me about 30 minutes and my first one still felt wet, sloppy and raw in the middle. If you do burn your pancake then don't bother and just throw it away as the taste of the burnt over-powers any chocolate flavouring. I had to cover mine in syrup and chocolate spread to make it edible. Glad I only got a sample pack as I felt sick while eating it.

Decent pancakes

This pancake mix tasted better than I expected, doesn’t have the grainy texture like the vegan protein powder
