1. Carbohydrates contribute to the recovery of normal muscle function (contraction) after highly intensive and/or long-lasting physical exercise leading to muscle fatigue and the depletion of glycogen stores in skeletal muscle. This beneficial effect is obtained with the consumption of carbohydrates, from all sources, at a total intake of 4g per kg body weight, at doses, within the first 4 hours, and no later than 6 hours, following highly intensive and/or long-lasting physical exercise leading to muscle fatigue and the depletion of glycogen stores in skeletal muscle.
2. Protein contributes to the growth and maintenance of muscle mass.
Carbohydrates contribute to muscle recovery†after high intensity and/or endurance exercise. Therefore in order to replenish muscular glycogen stores we recommend adding 1 1/4 large scoops (50g) to 150-250ml of water or your favourite beverage in a Myprotein shaker within 4 hours of exercise. †Beneficial effect is obtained through consumption of carbohydrates, from all sources, at a total intake of 4 g per kg body weight, at doses within the first 4 hours and no later than 6 hours of exercise.

FUNCTIONAL FOOD
So you've finished a leg day that will be with you for the rest of the week. Your appetite is shot because your body is now trying to claw back some recovery. But you need some protein and carbs...simple. Mix some of this Carb powder with your whey and chug. Your stomach will take it. Then wait an hour or so and then eat a real food meal. After trying dextrose which was just sugar basically. I tried waxy maize starch. Found it to be very good as it tastes fine and mixes easily with my Shake. Great for getting carbs in. It can make a mess though, would recommend buying a MyProtein tub to pour it into as you can scoop it out easier without making a mess. Goes Well With:MyProtein whey. Water
