I'm annoyed at how everybody complains about the taste. It's a supplement powder, what do you expect??!It's the ingredients that matter the most to me. Of course i had better tasting ones, but this being vegan without artificial flavors, i didn't expect better really. it has an earthy taste, every vegan protein blend smells weird (read: it's normal), but i can give you a good recipe that will definitely improve it: 1 banana, 1 avocado (optional) 2 spoons of coconut oil and chia or flax seeds,a cup of berries and non-dairy milk. i used yogurt but it mixes better with milk definitely. It's pretty good, no bitterness. I think this is one of the best vegan supplements for this price and I'd also like to urge manufacturers to expel sucralose since there are much healthier options out there Goes Well With:fruit, milk, yogurt
Unsure why people are complaining about the taste so much... Taste is better than other vegan blends from competitors as it tastes less earthy. Of course it isn't going to taste like the impact whey because it's made up from plant based ingredients. Mixability is surprisingly good, perfect for making smoothies or in protein pancakes. Would definitely buy again. Only downside is there are no other flavours except from chocolateGoes Well With:Oats, water, almond milk
I got the chocolate vegan blend and really didn't like it. It's not very chocolaty just tastes artificially sweet. Also has quite a chalky consistency - tried blending it with bananas and everything but still couldn't get over the texture.
DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT - IT IS DISGUSTING! I bought this product in chocolate a few days again and was really excited to taste it - I frequently buy the Chocolate Brownie Impact Whey. However, this Vegan Chocolate blend is gritty, tastes very, very sweet and nothing like chocolate. I felt physically sick after one sip. I contacted Customer Services to complain and ask whether it was meant to taste like this and apparently it is intended to be gritty and completely undrinkable. What's more is they refuse to exchange the product for their normal Impact Whey or offer a refund/discount. Honestly, it's disgusting - DO NOT BUY!Goes Well With:NOTHING
This is a fairly good protein powder. Personally think the reviews are a bit dramatic with the flavour, it’s actually very tasty on its own with plant milk (chocolate flavour) Would appreciate if myprotein would remove sucralose tho.Goes Well With:Oats + almond milk
It's a really good product. I've heard people complaining about the taste of some vegan blends but this one, since my point of view, it's OK. It's got a small dried-vegetable aftertaste that I like it. I'll definitely continue buying this!
This really is the work of the devil! Tastes awful and the texture is gritty. I bought this on the back of previous reviews, but I’d suggest they’re all wrong!Goes Well With:Hee-haw
DO NOT mix with water/milk and drink as you would with other protein shakes. The taste (unflavoured version) takes some getting used to but you will get over it. Mix it with frozen fruit/berries (300g) + ripe banana(100g) + 1tsp sweetener in a smoothie and you can barely taste it. I would not add large scoops at a time as it will overpower the fruit, but around 20-30g at a time is no problem and it does the job. No gas, no bloating, just good plant protein.Goes Well With:Frozen fruit/berries (300g), ripe banana(100g), 1tsp sweetener, plant milk 400ml, water 100ml.
I love the taste of the normal chocolate smooth whey protein, but Whey never agrees with my stomach. So I though I’d give a non-dairy option a go. I took one sip and almost threw up in my sink, it’s the most vile thing I’ve ever tasted! I even paid extra for the ‘flavoured’ one. It went straight in the bin, I didn’t expect it to taste nice by any means. But this was unbareable. Goes Well With:The bin
So I'll start by saying I actually like this product. Its great to have a mix of different vegan proteins and its very affordable. But man, is the taste bad. I bought the unflavored version. I don't think it's even possible to drink this with just water. I've tried a couple of times and it's rough. It's not just the taste, but the powder doesn't mix with the water and clumps together at the bottom like sand. My hot tip would be to blend a banana with your shake; this binds the powder makes it way more drinkable. I also recommend buying some Vanilla Flavor Drops to mask the taste. I wanted to leave this review to say to MyProtein: try and sit down and actually drink a cup of this stuff. I'd really love it if they tried to make some improvements to this protein powder.Goes Well With:Dates, Banana, Vanilla Flavor Drops, Alpro Soy Milk
When I first tried the chocolate smooth flavour I wasn't too sure on it but the more I had it, mixing it with foods such as oats and putting it in smoothies etc, I became used to the taste and I actually quite enjoy it. I can understand why people say it tastes a bit grainy however it doesn't take long to get used to. As far as I'm concerned it's a decent product and a great alternative if you are vegan or looking to reduce dairy consumption. Goes Well With:Oats, banana, almond milk
When I had my first taste of this protein I was scared, after a run in with the evil tasting impact whey isolate chocolate peanut butter flavour I thought this vegan blend was about to traumatise my taste-buds once again. Although this vegan blend is disgusting, it is not as bad as the aforementioned. One week in and I am getting used to it. I find the taste suppresses my appetite somewhat also. This protein makes me feel good with no adverse affects and the gains are solid. This is now my go-to blend now but i'm just praying they make it taste better somehow.
It's fine with water post workout but I find I have to just down it and swill my mouth after as it is very grainy. But my favourite way to use it is in protein porridge. It's definitely better in something than on its own but does the job🖒Goes Well With:Porridge
Effective protein supplement as far as I can tell. The only thing I would REALLY appreciate is a few extra flavors... I think, like most people here, I would really appreciate a simple Vanilla flavor that would go well in smoothies.Goes Well With:Smoothies
I mix with this just in a jar with original soya milk and I think it tastes great, so glad I bought this and I don’t think I’d try another brand ever again!Goes Well With:Original soya milk
I can agree with a lot of the reviews on this protein powder - grainy, bad aftertaste, smells a bit funky... well yes it will if it’s mixed with water, so from my experience with this protein, don’t mix with water as you’ll get 3 scoops in and lash it in the bin, or give it to a mate for free. My current PWO shake is 300-400ml original soya, 1 banana, 1.5 scoops of chocolate vegan blend, then maybe a tablespoon of chia seeds - blend it (unless you like swallowing chunks of banana..). The banana taste that sharpness out of the protein and doesn’t leave a horrible after taste when mixed on its own. Macros are good and if you’re like me where you’re bloated off whey (or maybe intolerant) and any dairy, this shake is perfect for boosting your daily protein macros. I’m not affiliated with Myprotein, nor will I give you a code to give you 27% off - I’ve had a lot of protein powders, not just MP, and this by far has been the best for overall health, satiety and also the feeling of not actually being bloated for a change. Goes Well With:Leucine, banana, regular soya milk, chia seeds
I wanted this to work out. But the taste is awful. Cannot stomach this. Never had a problem with taste in protein powders before but this has too much of a weird after taste. Disappointing. Goes Well With:nothing
I love the taste of this powder as it is not overly sweet and does not have the artificial sweetener after taste that some products have. The only slight down is that it is a little grainy . This is common for a vegan protein blend bu I think it is a bit more noticeable in this product.Goes Well With:Smoothies (esp. banana and frozen berries/cherries)
I use it because it has a complete amino acid profile, the protein coming from 3 of the healthiest, most bio-available & high-quality vegan sources: brown rice, pea, and hemp seeds. Too bad the reviewers, like for the rest of the products, will soon start complaining about the "awful taste". That's because instead of using it as a supplement, people centre their whole post-workout meal around it. It is much more effective and tasteful to add it to something like a smoothie instead of just mixing it with water. Throw in some bananas, spinach, flaxseed, spices (turmeric, black pepper, ginger, cinnamon), lemon/lime, kale, and berries and you'll get so much more than protein: fibre to help digest it, added vitamins and minerals from the leafy veggies and fruits, more antioxidants from the spices, omega 3 fatty-acids from the flaxseed, all increasing absorption and recovery while fighting inflammation.Goes Well With:Throw in some bananas, spinach, flaxseed, spices (turmeric, black pepper, ginger, cinnamon), lemon/lime, kale, and berries and you'll get so much more than protein: fibre to help digest it, added vitamins and minerals from the leafy veggies and fruits, more antioxidants from the spices, omega 3 fatty-acids from the flaxseed, all increasing absorption and recovery while fighting inflammation.
This is one of the worst tasting protein I have ever tried. Leaves an awful after taste in the mouth. It is very easy to mix, no issue there.
