The flavour is quite nice to be honest and the added protein a bonus, however the instructions 'pour on 150-200ml boiling water' doesn't do anything, just oats in coloured water. After microwaving like you would with oats so simple for example, it went very bitty with hard oat pieces... Any suggestions on a decent prep method... Will try it with milk next...
Great when mixed in a pan on the hob. Turns lumpy quickly so a low heat is recommended. Really tasty and filling. Love it :-)Goes Well With:Aldi,s frozen fruit
Great tasting porridge that's full of protein, what more could you want!
Great tasting brownie that's full of protein, what more could you want!
They've used far too many sweeteners in the porridge, your body can't digest the amount they've put in it and it gives you really bad stomach/digestive problems!! I love Myprotein.com but this should be completely avoided! It tastes like angel delight with toxic waste!!Goes Well With:The bin
Doesnt mix properly at all, its not like porriage at all the mix is powder and it goes at thick and lumpy Goes Well With:A different breakfast
Like most instant porridge mixes it thickens and tastes really nice however this one doesn't thicken up at all it stays runny even with the recommended water amount. The Golden syrup taste doesn't leave your mouth for hours either so make sure you clean your teeth afterwards. What is impressive is the amount of protein in a 50g satchet.
Recommend trying the samples first. I've settled on Vanilla as this mixes well with blueberries. Excellent macros for a post workout Refuel meal.Goes Well With:Unsweetened almond milk or water and blueberries
Really Loved The Taste And This Porridge ...Tasted Tummy Chocolate Too.....UNLIKE MOST out there....This says and tastes like what is says it does and do :))) ....Goes Well With:Anything Lol :)
This porridge was a bit gritty no matter how much I stirred it, quite sweet too but other than that it's not really as bad as I was worried it might be, certainly edible but not sure I will get this again, would prefer a normal porridge and just down a protein shake after to get the protein I want.Goes Well With:A spoon?
After researching and tasting so many successful My Protein products, I regret that I didn't read the reviews of this product. I got the Golden Syrup porridge and I have to say, it is totally inedible. Even for one who has a major sweet tooth like me. Seriously sweet tooth'ed!!! This is so sweet and artificially sweet too. Saccharine overload. If anyone wants my remaining 19 sachets, I'm happy to send them to you!!!! Not that I've done a great job of selling them to you........ Never doing that again... Samples are well worth the money before going in for the big one.
Ordered 40 of these but could barely finish one as they taste disgusting. Left a bad taste in my mouth the whole day. Contacted my protein and they refused to refund my money as I had already tried one! Awful product, awful customer service.Goes Well With:The bin
If you have an acquired for sweet food then you will be fine with this - I can happily eat a serving over the course of 10 - 15 minutes. I recommend having a sip of water after a few spoons helps a lot. Goes Well With:Cold glass of water
I love these porridges! I've tried the vanilla, chocolate and golden syrup flavours so far and have now ordered the maple syrup, banana and strawberry flavours to try, which I can't wait for! Out of the 3 I have tried so far I would say the golden syrup one is my favourite. As other reviews have said it can be lumpy but give it a good stir/squish down with a spoon, which takes no time at all, its really not an issue!
Pretty tastey and love that you can just add water. Once thing I will say is the Macros on the packet don't match the website.
I tend to not like taken the protein shakes with me to work, so I find this as a great alternative. It also means I can just get full up on it for breakfast and get almost the same benefits out of a protein shake as well as the benefits of porridge being a decent fuel. I've recommended it to several people and I've definitely noticed results when at the gym
Firstly. I read a lot of reviews regarding the sweetness. I found that pitting the oats into a bowl and pouring in hot/ boiling water the porridge was sweet and bitty and fairly unpleasant. However I think the over sweetness problem goes away if the oats are cooked for long enougth. I Found the hot water cooled too quickly in a bowl and the oats only had a minute actually cooking. By putting the oats in a mug/cup the oats were able to cook for the 5 min I felt was a suitable as the water cooled a lot slower. Microwaving had strange results if the water was heated to boiling point but again the over powering sweetness was definitely less. Without the porridge being too sweet I eat it after the gym and feel full until lunch. Hope this helps other people that find the oats too sweet.
I am literally in love with this product! I have a very busy schedule from first thing in the morning till late at night and these little bags of breakfast goodness are so quick and easy they fit straight into my lifestyle. When I first got the product delivered I was so suprised at how big the bag is they come in, literally the lengeth of my torso, (40 packet bag). That immediately hits me as wow thats really good value for money. The fact they are already in a little packet ready to mix up and eat and come in a different variety of flavours is also super handy if your like me running around in the mornings without a moment to spare. So I bought vanilla as I wanted something I could add stuff too which could give me a new taste each day if desired. You can either use water or milk to mix these oaty delights up, I use water as the porridge is very creamy and personal prefrence says it doesnt need milk. First thing in the morning I put the kettle on, empty my sachet into my bowl, mix the porridge up, add my hot water, stir, add my toppings and im good to go. I was initally suprised at how sweet the vanilla flavouring was as I expected it to be quite bland without much flavour but the taste is incredible. The oats in the porridge can be a little chewy sometimes but I find that if I have literally just added the water and eaten they are chewy, if I leave for two mins they are soft, again down to personal prefrence. I like the fact they are so handy and easy to carry around that if work is running late or I've forgotten my snacks I have an immediate snack in my bag full of protein and very filling. Goes Well With:If you have the Vanillla flavour they go with anything. I top with yoghurt, nuts, berried, fruit, manuka honey, flax seeds, peanut butter etc.
Ordered a big bag of 40 satchets to take on hiking/wildcamping trips. All you really need is hot water and maybe some dried fruit to go with it. It's lightweight and waterproof as well. Ordered the chocolate flavour and tried with 200ml of boiling water. The instructions say 150-250ml and I think it's more like 150ml, since even 200ml were way to much. It mixes okay when you constantly stir for a minute or so. The taste is quite good as such, but it's waaaay to sweet. I mean this is a product for people who are concious of their diet. We can put our own sweetener in if we like. I've banned sugar pretty much from my life so this was a bit of an "ewww"-moment. I got used to it after a few spoons and had a banana with it, which was nice. For the sake of ease of use, this is perfect. But if you're not relying on separate satchets, you're better off creating your own mix of oats and whey protein powder.Goes Well With:bananas, berries
Syrup flavour porridge-ugh!! So sweet. Not too keen really but I have 20 sachets and I hate waste so I'll persevere. I make it with soya milk as it tastes vile with water. Once cooked it still tastes uncooked if that makes sense. The oats are quite hard and don't seem to soften in the cooking process. Having said that it is very filling and keeps the hunger locked away till lunch!!Goes Well With:Soya milk and a banana
