Dextrose, also known as a glucose or corn sugar, is a sweet tasting carbohydrate that rates very highly on the Glycemic Index (GI).
Dextrose raises blood sugar levels and can be ideal for anyone looking for a quick increase in energy levels.
Dextrose is suitable for a wide variety of sports athletes. High GI carbohydrates can be used before and immediately following training session for best effects. Dextrose would be ideal for team-based sports or endurance events which deplete muscle glycogen stores.

Carbohydrates contribute to muscle recovery† after high intensity and/or endurance exercise. Therefore in order to replenish muscular glycogen stores we recommend adding 1 large scoop (50g) to 150-250ml of water or your favourite beverage in a Myprotein shaker within 4 hours of exercise. †Beneficial effect is obtained through consumption of carbohydrates, from all sources, at a total intake of 4 g per kg body weight, at doses within the first 4 hours and no later than 6 hours of exercise.

I have difficulty putting on weight so I started drinking dextrose mixed with protein powder while in the gym as well as my usual post-training protein shake. I use this on its own with milk or water and always tastes great. Also use with other shakes that otherwise wouldn't be very pleasant. Even tropical flavours or lumpy textures. An essential in my post workout shake, it's inexpensive, good quality and exactly what I need. 1-2 scoops depending on your requirements will usually work for most. Also makes things sweeter so can help improve the taste of any homemade shakes but might make others too sweet for some but it's about the gainz not taste! Yes there are other faster digesting carbs but dextrose = glucose = blood sugar so it's not exactly going to take long and your replacing like for like. I use this during my cutting phase. Caloric deficit causes low energy and dizziness during intense workouts. Especialy while training big muscle groups (legs, back). This product brings energy into your blood instantly allowing you to lift more weights and shorten the rest intervals. It also prevents muscle breakdown.
