I found that whey protein was also making me very bloated so I've been using Carnipro now (chocolate, vanilla and strawberry) for a good few months and I don't know what some people complain about. I can't taste any 'raw beef', yes it tastes different to whey, but that's because it isn't whey so you can't expect it to be the same texture/taste. It is true that mixability can be an issue, this isn't a powder than you can shake and drink, it'll need to be blended before. I didn't find this to be a problem and blended it in my nutri bullet: 25g carnipro (chocolate), 200ml almond/oat/coconut milk, few ice cubes and it was perfect. I did try making protein pancakes with this, but they just don't set and stay quite gooey, edible but not great. I decided to try the strawberry flavour too, and I've mixed this with 125g of plain yoghurt and topped with a few berries and it is amazing! It tastes like pudding or something I don't know, but if you really don't like it as a shake, add 25g to the yoghurt and mix it vigorously to make sure it incorporates properly, and just eat after a workout :)Goes Well With:Dairy-free milks, plain yoghurt
Doesn't mix well with shaker but if left to stand 15 mins is fine. Tastes like chocolate mousse.Goes Well With:Milk, water
Despite the negative reviews I added a banana flavoured CarniPro to my basket. It was a gift last week if you spend over 60 euros so I stand to lose nothing. I got the package very fast as always. Mixability is flawless. In my opinion lots of people got in to the habit of buying whey protein, which is thinner than beef protein. Beef protein is dense and It needs much more shaking. Don't forget It! Taste is spicy because of the curcumin. It tastes like banana with curry sauce, and I definitely like It! So I suggest you that buy a sample and give it a try. I strongly recommend for those who can't consume other products by any reason.Goes Well With:water
Been looking for a whey alternative for some time having an intolerance to lactose and some dairy. I had tried soy protein and could not stomach the taste - even the flavoured shakes I tried were vile! I thought I'd give carnipro a go...it could never be as bad as soy so worth a try. Having read the reviews on here I didn't even bother trying to mix it via shaking and just went straight for the blender. It mixed perfectly into a thick shake. I much prefer whey thickness shakes as oppose to isolate so the thickness was right up my street. I went for vanilla flavour as chocolate flavours are often very hit and miss for me and as I like to often make pancakes with my protein, vanilla was the best choice. The flavour is gorgeous! Not like other vanilla shakes I have had, it's almost a cornflake kind of taste, very fine indeed! Defo recommend this for anyone with a lactose/dairy intolerance as it hasn't bloated be or made me feel nauseous at all! Use a blender to mix and you'll be reet Goes Well With:Mix with water in a blender
Taste wise it's pretty much the same as Myprotein's whey protein flavours. Use a shaker and it comes out quite lumpy and frothy. Use a blender and it's one of the smoothest shakes you'll have.Goes Well With:Mixed berries & Instant oats
The powder itself is great: really good macros without the digestive problems associated with whey. I went for unflavoured. The taste isn't repulsive, but it is slightly beefy. The real problem here is the mixability - as everyone says, it is pretty terrible with water and a shaker. The powder itself is very sticky, so it forms into lumps and foam. I tried leaving it to settle and it was even worse - it looked horrendous. HOWEVER, for anyone who doesn't want to invest in a blender, here is my tip: use warm water rather than cold. Not only does it vastly improve the mixability (virtually no foam, virtually no lumps after stirring), but it also improves the taste. It is quite malty, and is not dissimilar to Horlicks. I've even taken to putting a shot of decaf espresso in mine, and it tastes absolutely fine. I'm not sure what going too hot would do to the protein content (if anything), but warm water works a treat for me. Good thing too as I have 5kg to get through. Once you've overcome the mixing hurdle, this is a great product. Goes Well With:Warm water (and a decaf espresso shot)
I got the banana flavour - which tasted fine. However be careful when mixing as the yellow colour can stain your clothes - does it really need to have food colouring in it? It doesn't mix well as it gets very frothy, which stops the process.
I have had varied success with this product. I have found that it doesn't mix well with very cold water and ends up lumpy. If however you use room temperature water it mixes perfectly. The taste of the chocolate is similar to other protein products I have tried- but is a little sweet for my liking, but i can live with that. I would buy this again.Goes Well With:unflavoured creatine.
Found out intolerant to whey protein so this stuff if a lifesaver and taste lovely
Short and sweet. I've tried banana and vanilla flavours - both taste really good. The mixability is awful, but I always use a mixer so... I'm used to it. Sadly if you complain about the taste of any carni product (not just myprotein) then you've likely not tried any others - they all taste similar. That's what hydrogelised beef protein tastes like, I can safely say the my protein ones taste way better than a lot of time other more expensive brands. Goes Well With:Water, a blender and the ability to down it in one go! (it's fine to sip)
Taste is ok (at least strawberry). The results after shaking are bad. Lumps, foam and u need to add water and shake again and again. It's not worth
Use a blender or a Nutri bullet - smoothest shake you'll ever had. Shaking by hand? Yes you will get a lumpy messGoes Well With:a blander
As someone with a true dairy allergy, not just a lactose intolerance, finding protein I can have is hard work. My protein offer the best variety that I have found with a few different options. I ordered samples of the vanilla and banana flavors and 1 kg of the strawberry. The results of this product are great, just what you would expect from whey. The taste however is not so great nor is the mixability. If you put the CarniPro in your shaker with either water or milk you will struggle to get a lump free shake. I did however use a nutribullet and that did the job great it mixed it all fine, so if you have a blender i would suggest using one. When I first tried the different flavours, honestly I thought they were disgusting. The flavours taste very artificial, and you get an aftertaste of beef (yes really!!). Even when adding fruit or other substances I found it hard to remove the beefy artificial taste (this was the same in all flavours). So if you have a dairy allergy or lactose intolerance this product is great for building mass and for results, but if mixability and taste makes the difference then personally I would advise this product is not for you. On the other hand MyProtein's Soy Protein Isolate tastes much better and gives just as good results although the mixability isn't much better, but this is now my regular protein and I would advise this over the CarniPro from my experience.Goes Well With:NutriBullet or any other blender. I would use water over milk personally because the taste will be just the same k so I wouldn't waste milk, cheaper to just use water.
I use Carnipro as I'm sensitive to dairy, I have tried vanilla and banana and I prefer the vanilla, the taste is not the best but it's not bad. The powder mixes ok (improved since my first batch) but it does need a good vigorous shake and it's worth letting it stand for a few mins and reshake before drinking. Overall it's a great product that I will buy again.Goes Well With:I mix my Creatine with it.
I've been told to use this as part of a plan I'm following, I was always a whey kinda guy. My first time mixing up a carnipro shake was a disaster with powder stuck to the lid of my shaker and an indigestible amount of lumps. No amount of shaking would rid the lumps so I just necked the shake and chewed a couple of lumps. I soon discovered my shaker was too small and to get a good smooth shake I needed a larger shaker with more liquid and room to shake. Once I'd figured that out I was laughing. Nice smooth, thick protein shake and although it's not a vanilla flavour as such I won't be going back to whey isolate I'm now a convert. I'm using this while cutting at the minute and am happy with the results I'm seeing while using carnipro. I do find I have a bit more wind than usual though!Goes Well With:Water, cyclic dextrine
Great tasting (banana) protein and is a great lactose free alternative to whey. No aftertaste and the banana flavour is good without being over powering. The only down side to this is the mixing. It is quite sticky and forms quite a lot of froth after shaking but this disappears after about 20 minutes. I find the best way to mix it is to add it bit by bit with shaking in between because it is hard to get it all to dissolve if you add in the full scoop at once.It blends really well in a smoothie and tastes fantastic with some peanut butter or chocolate powder. I can't compare the effectiveness to whey as I cannot use it but I found the results using CarniPro to be quite good.Goes Well With:Peanut butter Chocolate Cottage cheese
Bought this product as i'm running and cycling regularly. Read other reviews and opted for the unflavoured so i can add to it accordingly. mixing it with one tablespoon of cocoa powder and it does the trick. It mixes well if you follow the correct amounts. Tried if without flavouring first and as expected it is a required taste. However, it is what it is and it does what it does. More than happy.Goes Well With:tablespoon of cocoa powder
I agree that this may not taste brilliant as is, yet the addition of a few flavour drops makes this taste delicious; in addition to it providing great health benefits and a good amount of protein. Beef isolate leaves me less bloated and I am convinced I am stronger on it (may be due to creatine in beef). Will buy againGoes Well With:Flavdrops
Ive used MyProtein for years and tried a good mixture of isolates, total protein and non isolated. Always got Strawberry flavour and always been happy. THIS WAS NOT. First time trying this, it has a weird colour compared to the previous. It doesn't mix well and has a strong distinct after taste and doesn't taste as good as previous. As other review mentioned is a good protein source, just buy isolate or something else.... don't punish yourself to lump, foamy tarnished flavoured with Carni. Save your money, I'm struggling to get through it and mixing with my isolated to make just about drinkable.Goes Well With:nothing
Since making the switch to carnipro from musclemeds carnivore I have found my self less bloated and I've recovered quicker. It's great tasting and mixes well.Goes Well With:Coconut milk and in smoothies
