Sizing Off

I'm a 31-32 in waist so purchased medium as the sizing guide suggested that they fit 32-34. While the shorts seem well made and good material a medium feels tight around the waist band for me. I would be scared if someone was 34in and tried to use a medium.
Other than sizing issues. I like.
