Straight to the point with the pros. Its effective and its cheap, (for what you`re) yet somehow, I cant see myself buying the product again. Its nutritional content boasts some impressive numbers with all the vitamins and minerals you could want in a shake. But, like many things... this is just to good to be true. I went for the chocolate flavour, just to stray away from adding to the plethora of vanilla shakes I have tucked away. BIG MISTAKE. It mixes like 30 parts concrete to 1 part water. Yet the shake being thicker than tar isn't the worst of the problems. One could genuinely mistake its taste for wall paper paste, I would have gagged less trying to swallow a whole banana. Judging by the reviews it seems to be the chocolate flavour that tastes this way. Maybe there`s hope for the other flavours. However. I can`t deny the effectiveness for such a good value. If you`re used to the taste of something you`d find under the sink, by all means give the chocolate flavour a shot...Goes Well With:Lots of Dilution
To my personal tastes, the chocolate flavour is unpalatable and triggers my gag reflex which isn't ideal. It's not like I'm not used to shakes - I am, it just has a very paticular flavour that seems 'plasticy' or 'synthetic' for want of a better word. So I am now experimenting with various blends with fruit and huel. Super great value though and does succeed in keeping hunger at bay.
I've tried all three flavours of Whole Fuel while recovering from a broken jaw (and literally eating through a straw for 6 weeks). It keeps you feeling full and is easy to use. You can just shake it up in a shaker but get a much nicer consistency if you whizz it with a blender. Chocolate flavour is nice, not super sweet but definitely not savoury either. Vanilla is quite pleasant. Raspberry vanilla is ok, but in my view a bit synthetic tasting. The only reason it doesn't get 5 stars is that it is slightly reminiscent of drinking cake mix, although you do get used to it after a while.Goes Well With:Made with: water, milk, cottage cheese On the side: Spirulina, powdered greens
Using 3 scoops makes this taste too thick. I got the Chocolate one and to be fair it does not taste like chocolate, but rather an extremely unappetizing nutty flavor. The chocolate does nothing. I do not see myself using it as the taste is incredibly off putting.Goes Well With:Just don't buy the chocolate one.
Overall an excellent PB shake. Slightly high on the carb content if you are aiming for weight loss, but then it is Oats which have low GI etc so not all bad. I have a shake a bit before doing a mile or so in the pool so the carbs are required! Mixes well with just water.. tastes a bit grainy/dusty at first but you get used to it after a few and actually may come to prefer the less sugary taste. Wouldn't recommend 3 scoops unless you like it proper stodgy.. I go for between 1 1/2 - 2 level scoops with 400ml water. Like others have mentioned; if this was made with Stevia instead of sucralose it would be an absolute winnerGoes Well With:Water Plant Based Milk
Having tried several Solient style drinks as a meal replacement, this by far out tastes and out performs the others. At this price point too, i couldn't ask for more. Great value, good taste, exceptional product. Resealable bag is one of the best i have used, and the drink mixes very well. Between this and Huel, i have gone for this and canceled my Huel subscription, as for the same price you get just as good, if not better product. Goes Well With:water, or fruit juice (vanilla)
Since this was on sale I bought this instead of Huel. I haven't tried any powdered food before. It tastes great, but it is FAR TOO sweet! I think it would taste much better if it is 50% less sweeter, and this is coming from a person who loves Coke! I have to add ice to make it palatable but then it would become too watery. Other than that I love it. Perhaps I would go for Huel next time because the sweetness is unbearable.Goes Well With:Water
This is the first nutrition product I have ever bought, my aim was to introduce a quick and healthy breakfast meal into my diet to help stave off junk food cravings before lunch. The product has definitely helped me achieve that goal and I am no longer snacking on chocolate coated flapjacks which was my vice! I have lost a couple of pounds as part of this and other efforts to cut down on the junk. The product contains ingredients which sound very healthy, but it's impossible to say if it's had wider health benefits. A couple of gripes though; firstly the recommendation is "100g or 3 scoops" per 500ml of water. The scoop included turns out to be 70mg, so three scoops is way too much! So be aware of that. Other thing is the flavour; as I'm having this for breakfast the last thing I want is something super sweet. It seems pretty much all sports nutrition products are either fruity sweet, or chocolatey sweet. My solutions was to put a shot of coffee in with the Natural Vanilla flavour. Just a couple of teaspoons of instant using hot water to dissolve, then put in the water, powder and ice-cubes. It's now a really nice drink I look forward to in the morning, the coffee nicely balances out the seeetness of the flavouring. Hope this helps! Goes Well With:Coffee (natural vanilla flavour)
Guys, this is waaay too sweet. Why add so much sweetener to it? I don't even think I will be able to stomach another one :( Please can you make an unflavoured version so we can add our own flavouring.
I avoid cow's milk and my goal is to improve bone strength, so I particularly appreciate the inclusion of calcium in Whole Fuel. I love 'proper food' but this shake has taken a lot of work out of meeting my protein, carbohydrate and bone-strengthening mineral requirements. I can get a head start by having this in the morning, or top up when I review the day's intake in the evening. The nutrient density and fibre definitely help to make this quite a filling shake and I'm relieved to report that the ingredients haven't caused any gut weirdness, which has not always been my experience with shakes. To tone down both the sweet vanilla flavour and the saltiness of this product, I add coffee. Apparently, caffeine negatively affects calcium absorption, but this can be counteracted by adding some milk. Therefore, I have been making this shake with almond milk which gives an even creamier, thicker mixture. I weigh the powder because I seem to get about 40g in each scoop, and usually use around 80g plus 300ml liquid, adding more water to get it to the thickness I prefer at that time. I use a shaker that has a sort of grid top (rather than a wire ball) and the mixability has been absolutely fine. Goes Well With:coffee, something crunchy to nibble on.
I've been using this for several months and I have to say it's great! Taste (vanilla) is great, mixes well with the mixer ball. And best of all, it's helping with my weight loss journey. I hope Myprotein keep making this product for a long time.
So far I've bought the natural vanilla and the vanilla and raspberry. I prefer the vanilla as I personally found the raspberry flavour to be a little synthetic tasting, but other family members prefer the vanilla and raspberry version so its all down to personal taste. One review said its too sweet, I disagree. Other reviews have said it mixes poorly (I'm guessing they think its too thick) and this I must comment on... The instructions on the packet are not very good. Apparently, 100g (3 measures) of powder with 350-500ml of water. This ratio does make it too thick, but there is an easy fix... Just add less powder or more water! Do no let bad reviews put you off buying this as it is fab. Love it. Definitely going to buy more!Goes Well With:A banana or avocado blended into it, or just by itself.
Started using this as a cheap and quick way to get a good lunch while at work. I normally work through lunches anyway. It's really quick and keeps me satisfied until dinner time with no afternoon slump. Got the 5kg chocolate bag, it's a good chocolate flavour (especially for a vegan shake) but by the time I've finished it i'll be ready to try the vanilla. I've tried Huel too, this beats it on taste and cost hands down! Nice one, MP.Goes Well With:Coconut Milk, Maca Powder
Bought this after MRP had been discontinued. Whilst the various flavours are ok, i loved the flexibility of unflavoured MRP, to which i could simply add milkshake powder. That tasted way better than flavoured Whole Fuel does. So, whilst this is a good MR powder, please add an unflavoured version.
This is way to sweet for me, and I have a sweet tooth! I love the flavour of Huel on it's own but I reckon this will need add-ins to try and take the edge off the sweetness like coffee or cacao powder. After my first initial taste, which I disliked, I added in some Maple Flavdrops which was a big mistake as this just added to the sweetness! Lucky the vanilla bag only comes in 1kg else I would have bought the bigger bag. I'll power through but I definitely won't be repurchasing and will be going back to Huel after this.Goes Well With:Something really bitter to take the edge off the sweetness
Have tried multiple brands of ...lents, also made my own. This product stands out mainly in the price-quality ratio. Taste is a little bit weird at first, artificial, but you will get used to it quite fast. Now I like the taste, but definitely could have been 50% less sweet and it still would taste OK. The main problem is the availability, this product is often out of stock for weeks. Heads up for other customers, I contacted the helpdesk and it should be in stock again in about 2-3 weeks time (mid-august). Goes Well With:Milk
A fantastic alternative to the many "Whole/ Complete Fuel" blends on the market. My personal favourite by far. Unfortunately, it has been out of stock for a number of weeks which is a real shame. Myprotein, when will you be able to supply this product again?
This is one of the better vegan proteins I have tasted, it does what it says on the tin, mixes well, taste is good, cheaper than other whole fuels and not gritty like some of them, my only complaint is that you can taste the sweetness in it and that your out of stock! What will I do now? LolGoes Well With:Icon nutrion greens
Sorry but this is a poor imitation. So wish Id stuck to huel. This gives me cramps, tastes awful, mixes like a lump of coal. Basically one of the worst drinks ive come across.
It arrived quite slowly. Natural chocolate flavour is nice and mildly chocolatey, not like milkshake which is great. Can't see myself growing sick of it as it's mild and quite wholesome. I personally would really like if sweetener could be stevia instead as the sweetener taste is still there and i think it weakens my gut flora. Natural chocolate macros are Fat: 13 Carb: 42 Protein 30. Bit disappointing because the macros shown (for natural vanilla, and I realise it has the disclaimer) are 15:40:30, which for me was already scraping the borderline of what I'd accept. Bit more good fat and a bit less carbs I think for a "whole fuel"! Because I'd only want 40g serving of carbs for a meal near a workout. Manna and Huel have coconut and other oils, that is a big plus point. For sedentary meal times, I'll be subbing in a scoop of protein or tsp coconut oil to lower the carb proportion. Loss of convenience though. Is there a gluten free version too? If so, getting that one next time as if I'm gonna eat that much oats, I'd rather have less of an inflammatory response by losing the gluten. (I am always inflamed - skin and allergy issues) BUT, lovely to have affordable soy-free multipurpose powder that is totally drinkable! Goes Well With:Water alone is great. So convenient.
