Sorry but this is a poor imitation. So wish Id stuck to huel. This gives me cramps, tastes awful, mixes like a lump of coal. Basically one of the worst drinks ive come across.
It arrived quite slowly. Natural chocolate flavour is nice and mildly chocolatey, not like milkshake which is great. Can't see myself growing sick of it as it's mild and quite wholesome. I personally would really like if sweetener could be stevia instead as the sweetener taste is still there and i think it weakens my gut flora. Natural chocolate macros are Fat: 13 Carb: 42 Protein 30. Bit disappointing because the macros shown (for natural vanilla, and I realise it has the disclaimer) are 15:40:30, which for me was already scraping the borderline of what I'd accept. Bit more good fat and a bit less carbs I think for a "whole fuel"! Because I'd only want 40g serving of carbs for a meal near a workout. Manna and Huel have coconut and other oils, that is a big plus point. For sedentary meal times, I'll be subbing in a scoop of protein or tsp coconut oil to lower the carb proportion. Loss of convenience though. Is there a gluten free version too? If so, getting that one next time as if I'm gonna eat that much oats, I'd rather have less of an inflammatory response by losing the gluten. (I am always inflamed - skin and allergy issues) BUT, lovely to have affordable soy-free multipurpose powder that is totally drinkable! Goes Well With:Water alone is great. So convenient.

In an attempt to stop eating crisps and instant noodIes at work I was looking to get some Huel or similar. This was on offer so I bought some of the raspberry one. I don't have a sweet tooth, this stuff is like eating a bowl of raspberry sponge mixture. Which, essentially, is close to what it is, I guess. It tastes pleasant, is very sticky compared to pure protein powder so needs a bit more mixing and more liquid. Overall, good stuff. If they did a savoury chilli and garlic flavour I'd be even happier.
Got myself 2big pouches but when read the ingredients got disappointed. There is artificial sweetener there called sucralose. Read about it online and seems that only after 15 grams or so getting into your body it reduces good bacteria by 50% and messes something up with protein assimilation. Causes all sorts of side effects. But it tastes so good. I wish it would be just sugar in there. Anyways those pouches go to the recycling bin. Doh.
Thought I'd give this a go, having read favourable reviews (and particularly arguments in its favour against a leading brand) and I am not disappointed- I bought chocolate flavour and it is surprisingly tasty, and not too sweet. The texture is pleasant, although you do have to mix it really well, and it leaves me feeling full and satisfied. Impressed!
Very very impressed with the Whole Fuel, very nice flavour, filling and easy to mix. I purchased some to do a full detox. It was out of stock last month, probably due to popularity. I ordered Huel in the meantime, and it was no match at all! I felt hungry constantly, the flavour was not as nice, and the mix was clumpy. I also despise the coconut taste in it! I'm now ordering Whole Fuel again and would recommend to other people!Goes Well With:Chocolate Mint Total Protein Shake
I've been a big fan of Total Breakfast but got this as I wanted an equivalent but without the caffeine. Really pleased with it, tastes great it has a sort of wholesomeness to it and feels like real food inside you (which I guess it is!). Think it is much better than Total Breakfast which in comparison feels like eating junk food. I'm not vegan but I prefer these non whey proteins as they are easier to digest and contain natural vitamins - you can feel the difference, it's like you've eaten some vegetables as it gives you that same energy. I got the vanilla which is a little sweet for my taste mixed with just water but totally drinkable - nothing compared to the sweetness of chocolate smooth recovery xs which I ended up having to bin. Would be great if there was a non flavoured as it would make damping the sweetness down easier but I plan to mix with some oat powder and unflavoured pea protein. Good work My Protein!Goes Well With:Water
Great product & great value compared to similar products from another manufacturer. Quick delivery too. Mixes easily in a shaker (slightly better in blender). Vanilla tastes ok but it's not meant to taste amazing as it's a "functional" food replacement. Nutrionaly it is outstanding and vegan too. So quick to make as an alternative to meals during busy daily work schedule. I use it twice daily for breakfast and lunch, Monday to Friday and have a proper evening meal. I Don't use it at weekends. Goes Well With:Mixes with water. I have put in a small amount of peanut butter or maple syrup to enhance flavour.
Great thing, very filing, not expensive and protein rich! Vanilla is great, but some extra tastes would be good to have as well... The only real issue I have is that it is out of stock one more than one week already. That going to be a problem. Goes Well With:Water and only Water
I got the vanilla flavour, as that's all they had in stock. It tastes so alarmingly wrong and bad that I contacted MyProtein, asking if there was something wrong with the batch. Apparently that's how it's supposed to taste. Not sure I believe that, but if it is true, I advise against buying it - it tastes like poison.Goes Well With:Masochism
As a long time user of a similar Fuel sounding product, I was apprehensive but excited to see an alternative - if anything just for a bit of flavour variation. And I was not disappointed. Have only tried the Chocolate flavour, but it's so tasty. It mixes well and is thicker than said competitor - which for me is a massive plus. Will try Vanilla next, and may even move completely to Whole Fuel - a few extra antioxidants and a little bit of Coconut fat etc isn't worth the extra price in my opinion.
Natural chocolate flavour tasted and mixed well, mixed with water, half whole fuel and half Vegan blend for my post workout shake. Will buy again and have let two other try it and both were impressed!Goes Well With:Water and vegan blend
Just ordered a 5kg bag vanilla flavour as an alternative to Huel. Bought for use as a lightweight camping expedition food. Wishing now that I hadn't. The taste is truly awful. I can bear that for a protein shake but as something that is supposed to replace a meal it truly would take all the joy out of food. Will try mixing it with some cocoa powder or honey to make it more bearable but if you are buying solely as a meal replacement you are better off cooking up some rice and fish on a Sunday and filling up some containers for the week ahead. Cheaper and tastier to just eat normal food. You have been warned!Goes Well With:People who hate food
I really liked Huel, but it gave be some digestion problems so thought I'd try this. I ordered the vanilla flavour and both products (this and Huel) taste pretty similar. They are slightly different but it's like Pepsi and Coke. I've been having 100g in 400ml of water, per day, and blending it in a bullet style blender. The consistency is thick and smooth - very easy to drink. I'm about 5 days in, having 100g each day. Apart from the first day, there's been no digestive problems to report. Considering 100g is 423 calories, it's not very filling. But I guess you could have 150 or 200g per portion to try and fill you up. I guess if you were only drinking this stuff instead of regular food, you'd need a lot of grams and calories to fill you up compared to real food. But maybe that's just me? AS its so cheap, its definitely worth trying for anyone who is sick of cooking or eating over priced and under nourished sandwiches on their lunch break. Goes Well With:Water, ice, and a blender.
100g mixed with 500ml water and you get something that resembles pancake batter, sickly sweet and a gruelling ordeal to choke down. I bought this to add some extra calories, I've been necking several 'hard gainer extreme' shakes a day for about 9 months so I'm no stranger to a self-inflicted Guantanamo Bay hunger strike breaking protein shake experience but this is a step too far. If you're looking for a meal replacement to lose weight this might work. Never tried Huel but it can't be worse than this if they're still in business. I've tasted worse and the consistency is smooth at least hence 2 stars.Goes Well With:Imprisonment without trial, stress positions, no gag reflex
I've been using this for the past 2 to 3 months, and it's really helped me in terms of providing the fuel I need for an active day! All three flavours are excellent (and chocolate tastes so good you could almost be having dessert). Not overly sweet, mixes well and it's good, thick and filling. The macro balance is just right, I've been recommending this to everyone. Goes Well With:Just water, it's so thick! :)
Overall this is nice with one small caveat. Mixes ok in a shaker in a push, but you do get some lumps. Absolutely great from a blender, lovely and smooth. It does a good job of suppressing hunger (the primary reason i bought this). I have added some konjac flour to thicken it even further. My only real gripe with it is the vanilla flavour is a tad too sweet for me to eat alone. Slinging in some cocoa powder solves the issue. If you are coming over from huel, do be aware of the sweetness, whereas huel has a fairly understated flavour, whole fuel is closer to melted vanilla ice cream. Goes Well With:Cocoa powder, anything to dial back the sweetness.
