I like vegan blend, taste is not so perfec, but it doesn't make you sick, so thats ok. Unflavoured proteins shouldn't be tasty :) Goes Well With:I mix it with some oat milk or rice milk, taste momentarily become better.
Okay, so the texture is not great, but not horrid either. Just a bit gritty. But the chocolate flavour is great. The idea that you can get 30g of protein from completely plant based products is great. I honestly look forward to after I work out to when I can drink this. Goes Well With:Just water really. But goes great on my porridge with almond milk and blueberries.
Before purchasing this product I was reading some of the other reviews and I wasn't sure if to purchase it since everybody was banging on the terrible taste and so on...luckily I went for it anyway and let me tell you that it just tastes like usual proteins. This is not the first time I use proteins and before I became vegetarian I used to buy regular proteins, let me tell you that whoever said that they taste like mud probably bought proteins for the first time in their life. This proteins taste as all proteins do, and obviously as all proteins if mixed with water the taste is not the best. If you can't take it with water just by one of the following almond milk, cashew milk, rice milk, soya milk and so forth and mix it with it. In conclusion fantastic product cheap and effective, I love it Goes Well With:Cashew milk
This was revolting. So chalky that it went straight in the bin.
The chocolate flavor tastes reasonably nice and goes well with any sort of vegan milk substitute (almond/coconut/oat milks etc.). The only problem is that there is a noticeable sandy and grainy sort of consistency, which you wont find in your regular whey shakes. This is further amplified if you mix it only with water. Making a shake with oats and some frozen fruit however eliminates the sandy feel to the point where its barely noticeable. Goes Well With:Vegan milks, Oats, Frozen fruit
If you want to be able to drink this in chocolate then good luck to you as I unfortunately bought 2 large bags of it and tried it and found it was the worst tasting thing iv'e ever had and wish I had stuck to whey Protein in chocolate which I find very good so iv'e now got 2 bags that will end up in the bin costly lesson learnt. Goes Well With:the bin as I think thats the place mine is going
Bought this after buying the brown rice protein (as I found the flavour unpalatable, but it works if you make pancakes!) and I'm really happy with my purchase, it's a bit sweet for my tastes, but if I add slightly more water than recommended, that improves. The texture is ok, much less chalky than the brown rice protein, overall very happy
This protein mix is very handy for ensuring you get adequate protein pre/post workout. It is made without soy, which is also good given the varied opinions on the risks associated. It has good protein content and digestive enzymes which is a great idea The chocolate one mixes quite well (it is a lot smoother in a blender than in a protein shake beaker). If using this with plant milk, I would use unsweetened milk as the powder is very sweet due to the surlcralose. This is an artificial sweetener which won't sit well with some. In that case, Myprotein sell an unflavoured version. Due to the veg based ingredients, I find this very earthy and it takes a lot of vegan milkshake powder to make it palatable. Overall these are great value for money and a convenient way of ensuring you get enough protein as a vegan.
I'm a beginner at the gym, but recently went vegetarian, and considering going vegan, but still want to gain muscle, so thought this could be good. The chocolate flavour tastes great, I actually prefer it to a lot of the whey protein chocolate powders. The only reason I didn't give this product 5 stars for taste is because of the unflavoured... I am aware this sounds stupid as what else can I expect from a product labelled 'unflavoured', but I accidentally ordered unflavoured once and... It was just really bad. I tried mixing it with cacao powder but still not good. The drink mixes really well though, far better than dairy protein powder, I have found; you don't need to stand shaking it until your arm nearly falls off. However, the texture once mixed is very different to whey protein, almost like bitty. No, that's not the right word, but anyway, it doesn't bother me and I still like it. Goes Well With:I have this with a few rice cakes after the gym :-)
I have used MP products for a while now and have loved everything i have bought from food items, to powders, to clothing etc.. I have recently started to transition to a vegan diet and hoped that this protein powder would happily replace the impact whey in my diet but sadly it just tastes terrible. The smell alone makes me gag and I have only been able to mask the taste when I put it in a smoothie with strongly flavoured things like lemon, ginger and pineapple and only used half a scoop! I really wanted to love this as I think My Protein are a great brand with well made, affordable products but sadly I think this is just going to sit in the top of the cupboard unused and sad.
Very nice taste, mixes well although have to give it a really thorough shake nevertheless very happy with this. Almost finished the kg and buying another one soon. Also put it in my oatmeal with some soy/almond/oat milk and the taste is amazing. The protein powder has a good texture and pleasant taste and is far better than many whey protein powders I've tried before, no horrid aftertaste or trouble getting it down (whey protein is a bit awful if I'm honest) Overall really recommend this to vegans or anyone else as it is great whatever diet you haveGoes Well With:Water, oatmeal, oat/soy/almond milk
I mix 2 scoops with 4 banana's and Oatmilk. It's the only combination that tasted really good. With just water it's horrible, like drinking dirt. With banana's, it gives it a nutty taste and I like it! Would recommend it, but if you want something to mix with water, go with the Soy protein or maybe take the flavored version of this product (haven't tried it though). It's my 3rd bag of Vegan blend and will order again in the future!Goes Well With:Banana's and Oatmilk/Ricemilk/Almondmilk
The mixability is quite ok, not the best. Had this shake with almond milk, but could not drink it as the taste is really, really awful. Mixed it with agave syrup and berries, but the taste still remains. A big no go for me...
I am allergic to whey, animal milk and eggs so I can not use certain products. I have used sun warrior blend in vanilla Which I loved. I was recommended this and it was a lot cheaper with more protein and only slightly more carbs so I thought I would give it a try and I got the chocolate smooth. I haven't taken it long enough for me to see or feel a difference yet but the taste is good and blends well with fruit or veg. So far I would but this again Goes Well With:Banana, strawberries, peanut or almond butter
Tastes like raw wholemeal flour mixed with cocoa. Its that bad.
I think this is a really good product for those avoiding animal products. I am dairy intolerant and this product is great. I order the chocolate flavour and find it has an unusual but nice taste. I think it becomes.nicer the more you drink. It mixes fairly well but does need a really good mix to get all the lumps out. I think this is a really good protein and I buy it regularly.
Just received the vegan blend powder. I have tastes a lot of vegan protein powder and that powder is by far the nastiest. Is taste really bad. Smalls awful. Very bad taste... Just a wast of money.
Chocolate version tastes great, mixes fine in a blender with koko milk. Would buy again.Goes Well With:Koko milk diluted with some water.
It does the job and to be frank is the best vegan hemp blend that I have tasted. It's not amazing but try any hemp protein and this version will equate to liquid heaven!!!Goes Well With:Water. Not to much
Decided to try the vegan blend as I felt my skin was breaking out more which I thought might have been due to using whey powder. I use the chocolate smooth flavour and it tastes the same as the chocolate smooth whey powder. The only difference is the texture, as the vegan blend is a little grainy but once you start using it you soon get use to the texture. Overall, its a good product and I haven't noticed any difference in terms of gains compared to the whey powder and have just ordered a second bag. Goes Well With:water. milk. in smoothies.
Haven't used other vegan protein before so I can't compare. I bought unflavoured one , it has a green taste and found it hard to drink with small amount of water (my mistake). I tried it with cocoa powder, almond extract and vegan coffee. So far I liked it best with cocoa powder. Will keep experimenting. Goes Well With:Cocoa powder, plant based milk
Brought this as a trail for a vegan protein, as usually use whey as my form of protein on the go, otherwise i just eat food as my main protein source. Only flavour available is chocolate. Otherwise it comes in unflavoured. Really wanted to like this.. but sadly not convinced. Step up your game #Myprotein! It tastes like cardboard dust and doesnt mix well. I mostly use it with greek yoghurt and its mixes up to a paste, like wall paper gel. Hard to enjoy this texture, as im used to mixing vanilla whey into my yoghurt, which is so much better consistency and taste! Maybe if this came in Vanilla flavour and so many more, it would hide the dusty smell and taste. Unfortunatly I will trying other brands for my vegan protein source. thumbs down from me! Goes Well With:the bin
Turned vegan the other day (about 6 kgs of myprotein whey left) was over the moon when i saw that MyProtein had a Vegan Blend, Received it today, Chocolate flavour Mixes like a boss, nice thick texture, Tastes chocolatey and veggie which i love as i used to put frozen peas into my shakes anyway (try it, trust me, thickens and cools the shake) Will be a great way to add a bit of extra plant sourced protein to my diet. As for effectiveness, I haven't been taking it for long enough to judge but I cant see why not, on paper it should be.Goes Well With:Almond milk or Water
When the vegan blend arrived I wasn't expecting to be able to just add water and give the mixture a shake and end up with a tasty milkshake... so I wasn't exactly disappointed when I took my first sip and discovered that the shake was grainy and slightly strange smelling. My advice is the just add a bit of alternative milk and a banana to the mixture, then blend! I find it best to then just let it sit in the fridge for a few hours so when you finally get round to having it the banana flavour has taken over and the mixture is smooth. On a positive note, I'll definitely purchase the vegan blend again. It's good for the price and it does its job.Goes Well With:Bananas
Oh my goodness. Vile. Got this as ive got a mild lactose intolerance and found the other whey protein wasnt agreeing with me. The vegan blend is just unspeakably putrid. It is thick and gritty, and ive never tasted anything so unpalatable. I actually couldnt take anymore of it after the first serving and went back to whey protein. I would recommend shopping about for another brand sadly. This is just not fit for human consumption. Sorry MP! - but gotta speak the truth! Goes Well With:Nothing...
I feel that everyone, even omnivores, should try this shake because then they will never think a protein shake tastes bad ever again. The sandy texture on your tongue and down your throat is only worsened by the terrible flavour of cold, bad, split pea soup. I do have the unflavoured. I tried adding flavourings but literally couldn't taste a difference. I won't be buying this one again. Can't knock it as a cruelty free (apart from to yourself) way of getting your protein though. Goes Well With:I would assume vegetable stock, crusty bread and a glass of wine...
Great way to get more protein into your vegan / vegetarian diet. Easy to mix or have as a shake as the chocolate flavour. Would buy again and recommended.
this tastes like chocolate feet it doesn't mix very well there is always the after taste of the unflavoured vegan blend that is drowned in not very nice chocolate flavouringGoes Well With:feet
Disgusting, I have no other word to describe it. Tried it with everything, fruit smoothies, veggie smoothies, veggie stews, doesn‘t go with anything. No matter what you do with it you get a dominant pea taste, simply awful.Goes Well With:Nothing
This product unfortunately doesn't taste all that great and you can taste the powder no matter how much you shake it. Really disappointing and would go back to Impact Whey protein next time even though it's not vegan.
I tried this vegan protein on recommendation from a friend but was really disappointed. It tastes far too sweet and not at all chocolate, it also just tastes grainy and powdery. The only way I can stomach it is to add some cocoa powder and peanut butter to take away some of the sweetness. Needless to say I will not be ordering from my protein again.
I have tried several vegan protein powders and this is excellent, not earthy and all and mixes very well. I have mixed it using water and in a nutri bullet and both mix excellently. Adding a banana or half an avocado makes it really creamy. One minor point is I often make pancakes out of it and it seems to enhance the sweetener flavour, nice if you want something sweet. Doesn't seem to taste as sweet when made in into a drink. The pancakes are excellent (p.powder/egg, 1 tablespoon of flour and almond milk). Very pleased : )
This contains the best vegan protein combination at huge value. I don't notice any taste or lack of due to using it in smoothies. The ziploc on the pack could be better but that's my only complaint. I will definitely buy this again.Goes Well With:I use it in smoothies.
After eliminating all meat and dairy products I decided to try vegan blend. This protein powder is well priced and mixed very well. Taste isn't great however the aftertaste is gone within seconds. It would be amazing if it was a bit sweeter but I like how little ingredients there are that go into this powder and how clean it is. i have had no bloating which I used to get With whey products. Overall good protein powder. Would buy again
I went Vegan in November 2015 and to replace my whey protein powder I went straight to myProtein to see what they could offer. I have had no problems with Vegan Blend at all. What I like about it is the ingredients on the bag, so simple and no chemicals and gigantic words you can't read. Pea Protein Isolate, Brown Rice Protein Concentrate, Hemp Protein. If you buy 'Unflavoured' then the taste will take some getting used to but after a while you don't notice. The Chocolate flavour is spot on however I tend to buy the Unflavoured and then put some Cacao powder to trick my brain into thinking it's chocolate just to save a little money! Mixability is just like any other protein shake. No clumps lumps bumps... In terms of effectiveness protein is protein... I've lost NO GAINS taking this. Goes Well With:Gains
It's great to see that myprotein have developed a vegan protein powder for vegans. The vegan blend is prefect for a student like me who can't always meet protein requirements. Looking forward to more vegan supplement options and flavours, awesome works guys! Goes Well With:Smoothies, oats, deserts, soy milk,
This protein is cruelty free and provides a great boost to any diet 22g of protein in just one serving!! You will want to use a blender when mixing up this protein and because its unflavoured you probably won't want to have it with just milk. The taste is not for everyone but can be easily masked with fruit and appears to digest really well. Goes Well With:A scoop in smoothies or milkshakes. Added to overnight oats is my favourite!!! Overnight oats: Mash 1 banana in a bowl add 1 cup of oats, 1 cup of milk of your choice, 1 serving of vegan blend, then top with your choice of fruit/nut and a drizzle of date nectar/sweetener of your choice. Pop in the fridge overnight.
Great value, good product, but could taste better. Goes Well With:Almond Milk
This was the first product I have bought from myprotein and I have to say I have fallen in love. As a passionate vegan GOOD protein powders which are affordable are hard to come by, but this vegan blend powder had definately hit my no.1 spot. Perfect blended in a smoothie/milkshake, leaving no icky lumpy bits aswell as tasting 100%.Goes Well With:Frozen banana, spinach & almond milk for a healthy smoothie/milkshake boost!
So this is what raw vegan protein tastes like... peas rice and hemp. It actually reminds me of pea soup powder. This doesn't go well with anything sweet, I'll try and add it to vegetable recipes such as soup and stew, maybe it would fit there, otherwise it's not edible.
Considering this is plant-protein based, MyProtein have done a tremendous job on the chocolate smooth flavour, so well done. Not too sweet but very drinkable Mixes well with no lumps however there is a slightly grainy texture but that doesn't bother me at all. Another bonus for me is that it's low in calories (120kcal per 30g serving I think) so works well if you're cutting or even as a snack to fill you up 5 stars!Goes Well With:Water, Plant/Nut Milks
Although the price is high, that's what you pay for animal free protein, this is low in fats, carbs and sugars, making it ideal not just for vegans but for anyone looking to control their weight whilst adding lean muscle. Would not recommend the unflavoured variety as I found it unpleasant but I'm looking forward to the chocolate flavour next, seeing some decent resultsGoes Well With:Nutri greens
Bought this product after trying to cut out dairy and replace it with vegan alternatives. I usually use the myprotein total vegan blend unflavoured which is decent (although is very heavy). But after trying out this chocolate flavour I was expecting it to taste horrible, but the taste is not bad at all. Doesn't taste as good as the whey chocolate flavours but it's still definitely drinkable. Taste out of 10 would be a solid 6 or a 7, but of course I'm not drinking it for taste. I usually add two scoops of this with water just before I go to bed, and it mixes very well. What I like is that it mixes better than the unflavoured one, which is difficult to drink when you add two scoops (along with other ingredients such as oats and peanut butter). All in all, it's a good product, tastes quite nice and is fairly cheap. Definitely recommended! Goes Well With:Water
This was my first time trying the Vegan blend and I was pretty disappointed. Before going vegan I used the milk whey and it was great - Amazing taste and it mixed well. This one compares badly. It doesn't mix and it has a horrible taste. If i could return it I would!
Hi, I have been ordering your began blend for a long time now I've had about 5 orders so far it's usually great! This stuff I got this time seems to taste off. It's it right I don't know if there's a new ingredient or it might be out of date. But it tastes awful not like usual. A weird after taste that I've never experience before. It's quite worrying!Goes Well With:..
This is really rank.... it does not mix well and tastes sour. This is the only flavour and it's really poor. There is no other choice apart from unflavoured and that's so much worse.
Very poor, chalky taste. Very difficult to consume, with gariny residue in your mouth. Does not meet expectations. Advise on different productGoes Well With:NOTHING
By far the best tasting vegan protein I've came across, and I've tried quiet a few. The texture is very chalky, unlike other brands which are very powdery. I'm extremely satisfied with this. With other vegan protein powders, I had to mix it with other things to mask the taste. However, with this, you can drink it by itself without needing to mix it with anything. I look forward to drinking it every time; the taste is amazing. Looking forward to buying more again. I definitely recommend this! Goes Well With:Bananas along with some coconut milk, almond milk, and so on.
This stuff is incredible with smoothies and has been the best way I've increased my protein intake. The taste is pretty dull by itself but when you're mixing it with fruit/veg/nuts/leaves then it goes perfectly. Very effective too, never been more lean, seriously...Goes Well With:Smoothies
This is truly the most disgusting thing I have ever tasted. My husband thinks so too and he's tried loads of protein powders. Because I'm vegetarian, this is the best thing that My Protein sells in terms of protein powder. The (no) flavour is foul and even mixed into food, it has a granular-like texture spoiling every dish/shake I tried. I will struggle to use it up now. Don't waste your money on this, I do not recommend. Goes Well With:Nothing.
