So after being told I can no longer have Cow's milk, I had to find a good alternative to the whey protein I was used to. Having tried My Protein products, I was willing to give this a try - but was really worried about how it was taste and the consistency of the protein.... Well, I absolutely LOVE this!! I first tried Strawberry Cream, which was SO good! I mix mine with Almond milk and sometimes a banana/fruit/spinach, and it was just delicious. Granted, had to use a blender to ensure the right consistency, but it just tasted so good!. So after finishing that pouch, I have just bought Chocolate Smooth, and this is even better!! Having this with just plain almond milk is so delicious, literally tastes like a chocolate milkshake (without all that bad dairy I can't have!). I haven't tried them with just water, so cannot review that - but all in all super pleased with this protein and would recommend to anyone!!!Goes Well With:Almond milk.
Wanted to try non diary due to theory that diary is bad for the skin. Bought this as alternative, and it ia more of a mousse than a drink, unless I have missed something, even added more water, no mention of this on the site. Actually tastes nice though. However prefer a drink I can down in 1 min, rather than eating mousse. Goes Well With:As a desert.
The strawberry cream flavour is delicious, and mixed extremely well. I mix it with 100ml of coconut milk and 200ml water. The chocolate flavour is also quite nice, but I normally add some frozen fruit to improve the flavour a bit more. The unflavoured is ok, mixes well, but I normally use it when baking & cooking as opposed to drinking it. I haven't tried vanilla yet, that's next on my list!Goes Well With:Coconut milk 100ml + 200ml water
Flavour: unflavoured Mixed with: Semi Skimmed Milk The reason I bought this was I wanted to try a non-whey protein this time as I have had a few whey proteins from MyProtein before. So it was just to try something different. Tried it with Semi Skimmed milk this morning in the shaker. 1 scoop added to approx 300ml of milk Mixability: Gave it a few shakes and it seemed to have mixed well except for a lump at the bottom of the shaker. In general while drinking I noticed that it had a slight grainy texture with some sticking to the insides of the shaker. Taste: Given that this is the first time I had unflavoured protein shake the taste wasn't bad at all. I didn't have any problems gulping the rest down in a few swigs. Overall: Difficult to say anything about the effectiveness as it was the first time I had this but hopefully I can gain some mass and keep my protein intake at a good level. Overall seems like a good product; based on its effectiveness I won't have any hesitation ordering it again.
I used to buy whey protein thinking that that was protein and that's that. No other supliments available. But whey always made me feel very bloated and sick after drinking it. With this Soy version, I'm getting 8-10 grams more protein, you don't get a horrible after taste that whey gives and it tastes better too. I bought the Strawberry Cream flavour. Do not mix with water otherwise it goes to a play dough like texture, so try it with soy milk or almond milk and it tastes really good and unlike other whey products, this is actually enjoyable to drink rather than the whey protein being a bit of a chore and not enjoyable. BUT...Three flavours for this product is not very satisfactory seeing as they customers who buy the whey can choose from at least 10 flavours. Goes Well With:Almond milk/soy milk
After trying numerous soy proteins, this is definately the One i'll be sticking with. Tastes good, mixes well and resluts are easily visible. Preferred flavour is Strawberry
Doesn't mix at all well, have to use a spoon to eat, tastes better than other unflavoured proteins though.Goes Well With:A spoon
I am trying to cut out all dairy - so decided to try this out. My first time using it at the gym I added around 200ml of water to 1 scoop of protein and began to shake, i got 2 shakes in and my shaker went silent... opened the lid and this stuff had basically solidified, it was the thickest consistency of any shake I've ever seen. I filled the rest of my shaker (about 500ml) to the top with water and even with that much water it was way too thick to drink. Would have needed a spoon. Such a shame but don't think i can finish this 1kg bag.Goes Well With:a LOT of water
Such a great product!!! I'm trying to avoid lactose as it doesn't sit well with me, but even if I was fine with lactose I'd still probably buy this product over the whey alternative! Even though the flavour options are limited, they taste great (though I recommend buying more than one because having one flavour every day does start to get a little too much) and they really do the job. Much better value. One thing I found is that it does sometimes go really thick and gloopy if I put the powder in before the soy milk. I only did it once by accident and I don't know if this was necessarily the cause but it was impossible to drink! I haven't mixed it that way since and haven't had an issue either. All in all very satisfied and will keep purchasing.
It's wayyyyy to thick. I got unflavoured and haven't tried the flavoured ones but it's horrible to drink and horrible when mixed with oats etc - too lumpy and goes super thick. I'll maybe give the other flavours a go but unflavoured is a no no!!!Goes Well With:nothing
Poor mix ability, has the consistency of ice cream when mixed with instant oatsGoes Well With:Let me know
Second purchase of the same product. Great taste for the chocolate one. I haven't tried the other ones as I'm more than happy with this one. Not too sweet, mixes very easily with unsweetened almond milk. I normally use a handheld electrical mixer thingy, that does a great job and doesn't make it too frothy so I can drink it straight away. I also mix it by hand with a spoon with less almond milk if I wanna have it as a 'desert' with some berries mixed in - then I don't even mind if there are little lumps in it, in fact I deliberately leave some so it makes me feel like I'm eating a pudding. :-) Goes Well With:unsweetened almond milk Summer berries
This soy protein isn't quite as mild as some I've had in the past, but the price is very competitive and the mixability better so definitely a good purchase!Goes Well With:Ratatouille, oatmeal, smoothies, yoghurt and cereal
Unflavoured soy protein is my favourite, and this one definitely doesn't let expectations down! The best price on the market and the delivery was very fast also. It's neutral tasting so great as a flour replacement in baking, adding to yoghurt, smoothies and even oatmeal - just an all-round great product!Goes Well With:Oatmeal, smoothies, pancakes, ratatouille, yoghurt, savoury dishes, mousse and shakes
As I'm dairy intolerant I'm always looking for things and this is good, tastes nice too which I was surprised about. Did take on others you'd reviewed this and they were correct.
A great alternative to whey protein for people allergic to or looking to avoid all dairy products. It has a nice creamy texture. It obviously is not as tasty as flavoured protein but considering it is unflavoured it isnt too bad at all and you are avoiding sweetners and flavouring which isnt better for your health.Goes Well With:Soy milk.
I was very dissapointed with this purchase. I normally get whey but decided to try out soya. I mixed it with water first which was a mistake. It turned into play doh and tasted like it too (I bought vanilla) It mixes better with milk, not grainy but very thick! It tasted ok when mixed with other things, yogurt, peanut butter etc. But I think I'll stick to wheyGoes Well With:Yogurt and peanut butter NOT water
I first tried mixing this with water and it had a horrible taste then I tried it with unsweetened almond milk and it's a million times better! It actually tastes nice now :) It mixes well in my Myprotein shaker too. Goes Well With:Unsweetened almond or soy milk
Tastes nice and has a better texture than vanilla soy in my opinion.
Without a doubt the best dairy-free protein on the market. Only downfall is that the taste is very sweet.Goes Well With:Water
Real thick, I will keep buying it!
Very disappointed, would not recommended. Very thick texture almost felt like custard. Shame to throw out 1KG but I just can't face drinking it again
Excellent product, creamy taste plus excellent protein source. Being vegan I sometimes have a problem getting quality protein with a great taste ... This has both
Unflavoured version: The product mixes well, such as it's not too lumpy, however even with 300ml of soya milk it's too thick. Tried to add a bit of water to thin it which did work but made it taste even worse. I also have made smoothies and shakes with the product which were further disappointments. The best thing is to have half a serving with 300 ml of soya milk and it's just about bearable, although I'd like to take in more protein that this after my judo and gym sessions. The product overall tastes horrid and is like chalky. Would not buy again. Goes Well With:Half serving with soya milk at a push
I purchased this to bolster protein intake on a vegan diet. It mixes well but has quite a bitter taste so blend it with fruit juices.Goes Well With:Apple juice and berries.
I will start by saying I have been thoroughly impressed with my previous orders from this company. But I have recently discovered that I am lactose intolerant and decided to switch from whey to soy. After following the instructions, the consistency resembled something that can only be likened to custard. I ended up adding more than twice as much almond milk than the recommended amount for it to resemble a shake. And after all that, it tasted awful. Leaves a really bad aftertaste and I had to throw it away before I threw up. Really disappointed with this product, especially as all others previously were so good. Seems like a shame to throw out 1kg but I can't force myself to drink it. Goes Well With:Nothing
Good protein complement for my vegan diet, very rich and tasty. The chocolate smooth is by far the bestGoes Well With:Water
Thank you for doing a good vegan protein! Really love a protein smoothie after a good workout! Goes Well With:Smoothies and porridge!
Good service, but didn't enjoy the taste.
Really enjoy my protein breakfast every day. Mixed with a blender for best result, it tastes delicious with half a banana added. Many people have commented on how well im looking in the last few weeks - since using soy protein - and my energy levels are increasing. At 71 years of age that's great news!!!
I have tried many different vegan protein powders over the last year, all of which were made with vegetable protein and yeah, they sucked! They were worse than awful and I was tired of wasting my money on protein powders that made me want to throw up. Thankfully, after scouring through the MyProtein website I found the soy isolate protein powder. At first I was sceptical as to whether I wanted to buy it, as soy has been critized over the years and warned against, because of thyroid damage. I already have a damaged thyroid, So I was in two minds whether to get this. Although, after reading the description, I was reassured that the MyProtein soy is from non-GMO sources, and into my basket it went. I'm glad I made that decision because the stuff is awesome. It's chocolatey and when mixed with dairy free milk, and other bits and bobs, it makes an awesome post workout shake. Plus, I swear I'm making them gainz a lot faster now 🤔😂 As for mixability, at first I wasn't impressed. But, after popping in one of the metal ball whisks from MyProtein, I can now say that the shake is as smooth as you can get it and it doesn't have that gritty texture either. Overall, I'm happy with this protein, hence why I've taken the time to write a review because I honestly believe that this is the best vegan protein I have ever tried and trust me, I've tried them all. I haven't seen any negative effects on my thyroid yet, but I have only been using it for around two months. However, I do feel a lot more energised and stronger from using it and I'm sure if anything negative was happening to me, it would be the complete opposite. So, if you're wondering whether to try this protein powder because you're worried past vegan protein powders will come back to haunt you - don't! It tastes SO good, but the addition of some sugar free chocolate sauce in a shake does improve the overall flavour. Maybe that's why I love it so much ;) Now I'm nearly out of the chocolate smooth, I have that dilemma of which flavour to get next - decisions, decisions! Goes Well With:Unsweetened coconut milk, sugar free chocolate sauce, a little golden syrup, coconut water and filtered water - so good! ❤️
Loved this! I went for the vanilla and it tastes just like custard! Definitely will buy it again
I use this soy protein a lot as it is very tasty, I've only knocked it down a star as it can be a bit sickly sweet depending on what you mix it with, I have the chocolate smooth but will try the other flavours as well. I find it helps post workout and in between meals to help get the extra calories in and fill me up, plus it's a good alternative to eating lots of beans and pulses which can get a bit much on your digestive system. I'm not advocating it as a replacement for whole foods but it does help towards your macro goals.Goes Well With:Most plant milks, chocolate flavoured oat milk is fab with it.
Mixes nice and smooth - good base vanilla taste that goes with basically every fruit or leafy greenGoes Well With:Frozen bananas and soy milk
Used as a meal replacement, one for breakfast and one for lunch in fruit smoothies blitzed in a blender. Prefer the chocolate smmoth flavour to the original flavour, also sometimes add some cocoa nibs or cocoa powder (5g per 30 of powder) for extra chocolate taste! Goes Well With:Frozen fruit, juices and coconut/almond milk. Have used a various combinations of raspberries, blueberries, cherries, mango, kiwi, pineapple juice, and orange juice. Also cocoa powder or cocoa nibs.
This product is really effective, used within 30 mins of leaving the gym and aches and pains are reduced the following day. Also, Ive tried the strawberry and cream flavour and it tastes so nice I've never had protein shakes before and being lactose intolerant I couldn't go for popular way products. So having to do go for a dairy free option I didn't know what to expect from the taste but tastes really nice! Mixes well and used with 400ml of water so it's not too thick. Will definitely be buying again!! Goes Well With:Water
I have combined this product with soy milk to make shakes. I used a breville sports bottle type blender and found no issues with mixing / clumping. Perhaps it might be an issue if you are mixing by hand in a shaker bottle. (I use one scoop (approx 30g) to 350ml sweetened soy milk topped up with 50ml water. To this I normally add 1 banana and 15g peanut butter) I never really got on with whey protein and it made me feel slightly nauseous. I have found that I tolerate the soy protein powder much better. Completely subjective of course but it's worth trying for anyone who doesn't get on with whey protein powders. Goes Well With:Sweetened soy milk.
love, love, love this. Flavour is great and easy to drink. I tend to have woth water as it can get rather thick with any milk. The soy can clump sometimes but generally it's not an issue and mixes really well. Packaging is Brill with easy seal.
I'm an 80 year old vegetarian and your Soya Protein is my main source of protein. I have used it for several years now and keep extremely well, with very few health problems. I use a blender as it isn't particularly easy to mix into liquids and the taste is unexciting! But it goes well with my muesli so I'm perfectly happy with this product. Also your prices are very competitive.Goes Well With:Muesli
Having previously using whey protein I was use to the very smooth texture, however this soy protein had bits in it and had a sandy texture even after making a smoothie in a blender.
This product tastes amazing and is the best value for money. I struggled through many different brands of dairy free products and this is by far the best one.
Really good product ... Very effective and tasts pretty good too (I bought the vanilla) ... Tastes amazing when mixed with some cinnamon and banana or a spoonful of peanut butter! I've also used this to make protein pancakes in the morning! I've tried a few protein shakes but this one is probably by far the best tasting one I've had so far :)Goes Well With:Banana Peanut butter Cinnamon Blended fruit
Tried this as an alternative to whey based products. The high protein content and price were attractive but....this doesn't mix well and has a chalky taste. I went for strawberry as I've used plenty of other myprotein strawberry flavoured products. This one has to be the worst I've tried. I find you have to double the recommended water amount to get a drinkable mix. However...it's much cheaper than whey and is palatable, so great if you're on a budget or need a milk alternative.Goes Well With:Nesquick but defeats the object if you're on a low sugar diet.
Good quality and cheap protein. I like that it doesn`t have fat and only 2,7g carbs and no sugars It is not really sweet and full of taste as whey, but still good. I took Strawberry cream and honestly it doesn`t tastes like strawberry, only smells like it. The good thing is that you need a small amount of it to make a thick shake. The only one minus is that it doesn`t satisfy, you still feel hungry after consuming it.Goes Well With:milk. with water it will be flavorless
I was a little sceptical about trying this.. I'm a BIG lover of the whey (salted caramel) but dietary changes has led to me cutting out whey. I'd heard some awful reviews about some other non-whey powders but the reviews on here seemed good so I opted for the chocolate smooth. It's REALLY good!! Mixes well, almost mousse like. Pleasantly surprised Goes Well With:Water + baking powder mixed then microwave = mugcake
Absolutely love this protein, have the strawberry and chocolate flavours- mixes well and makes a thick protein shake- low in fat too ! Goes Well With:Water
Bought this product due to getting indigestion with whey protein products, however I still got it badly with this. I got the vanilla flavour which is does taste like vanilla, it has a thick texture to it, however I'm sure you could have less powder:water ratio it would be fine.Goes Well With:Made the lean in 15 hulk smoothie.
Has a great taste (although the chocolate one is my favourite) although sometimes lumps do not mix in fully. Goes Well With:Soy milk
I bought two of these packs as I'm dairy intolerant and struggle to find non-dairy powders that taste good. Sadly I'm still looking. The powder mixes to a strong pink colour which is a bit offputting, it mixes well (I use a blender and am mixing it with almond milk). The taste however is disappointing. It's very artificial, hard to describe but I don't like it. If I hadn't bought two I'd have thrown it away already but I'm trying to get through it so as not to waste it.
Being intolerant to dairy (whey) this product allows me to get some decent protein in me. It doesn't taste bad with water, let's face it no protein shake tastes great. It produces slot of foam when mixed.Goes Well With:Water
