This is one of the worst products I have ever tasted ! It may have good grams of protein but it has to be drinkable ,I don't know who tested this product and said it was good enough sell but I think you need to make more of an effort to actually make it taste of what your advertising Goes Well With:Nothing
I bought the chicken soup, tried one sachet and will never be eating/drinking it again. It doesn't even taste like chicken. Very disappointed. Goes Well With:A refund for sending it back.
Was really excited to get these as they were on offer, although reviews were mixed. I must admit I was really grossed out, these really made me gag, I tried sticking with them but I could t stand the taste or texture. Nothing like soup or cuppa soup. So waste of money for me personally :( Goes Well With:Water
I use this product for my lunch at work. Whilst it's not the easiest to mix, and I usually end up with some lumps left, the taste is good. It's also really filling considering its less than 200 calories. Overall, this is a tasty, quick to make product. Goes Well With:Boiling water
Bought the 4 flavors to assist me meet my daily protein intake post VSG...I started with the beef flavor. It tastes like aerosol and does not go down easy. Half way through the cup ( took me about 30 minutes cause the taste was terrible), I ended up regurgitating. Goes Well With:Trash bin liners
Wasn't too happy with this. I took the plunge and bought a full 20 pack of the Med tomato as shakes, chicken and beef and veggies were getting boring so it's a nice change for snack time. Macros are great, taste is very bland, mixes poorly (lumps floating etc) but can deal with this as I've had much worse elsewhere but I'm paying to drink cardboard, seems quite frothy for a soup IMO. For me not worth the money unless they're on a decent offer which mine were at the time. Only myprotein product I've had an issue with though. Next time I'll buy sample of the other flavours beforehand.Goes Well With:Maybe an OXO or some added garlic and pepper!
Great soup. Taste is really good, the among is great as well, it just take a little time to get everything stirred well. So you don´t have any pulver left.
After reading the reviews I was pretty wary about this product. I had purchased the mediterranean tomato flavour. I was pleasantly surprised with the taste! If you mix this in a jug with a fork it mixes well, never had any problems with lumps/bits in the soup as some comments have mentioned. Excellent lunchtime snack!Goes Well With:a dash of tabsco or spices to give it a kick!
In spite of using a whisk and following instructions it was very difficult to get a smooth texture and we were very disappointed with the taste. I've decided to mix in a tomato cuppa soup to make it more palatable.Goes Well With:n't know?
As per all the other reviews, this product is a huge miss for me. It doesn't mix well and doesn't really taste of anything. I bought the Chicken flavour, but it had no taste at all. Really BlandGoes Well With:Toast :)
Tried 4 different flavour sample packs of these, haven't managed to finish a single one! They taste minging! On closer inspection of the nutrition you may as well just stick with a regular protein shake, that's all these soups really are tbh.
Love this soup, I've tried all 4 flavours, Thai Green Curry would be my favourite. Though the second time I bought it there was more of a kick to it, so maybe MyProtein could look at batch to batch variability? Other than that I can't fault it. Goes Well With:Salad
The taste is really bad which makes it hard to swallow. The mixability is awful. It's still sticky.
Bought the Thai Green Curry and tried my first sachet as part of my post workout lunch and it didn't mix overly well - had to keep adding water until it was quite thin and obviously you can't use a shaker with boiling water (unless you fancy a trip to A&E when your shaker pops), so... I popped half a nest of wholemeal noodles (does MP make protein noodles? must check) into my oversized mug, poured in the sachet, added boiling water, gave it a quick stir then left it to sit for a couple of mins before stirring again, et voila: A perfect noodle soup, with no lumps and fills you up with only around 270Cals Noodle Soup Macros: Carbs: 23g, Fat: 3g Protein: 25g Goes Well With:Noodles
Parcel arrived quickly. So far I have found 2 pouches split and had to throw away. I purchased the beef which taste really awful. Very hard to mix and leaves lumps. Bad purchase on my part and wont purchase again. I do not recommend. Goes Well With:Nothing
I have only had the Thai Green version. Very spicy but not much complexity of flavour. I suspect a little sprinkle of fresh coriander/ basil or a squeeze of lemon juice might give it that kick that's missing. I suspect that I will end up stir frying some peppers, onions, garlic and chicken or prawns and adding it to that for dinner - so using it as a high protein curry sauce base. Still its perfectly acceptable for lunchtime after some exercise - could be improved but a good whack of protein . Myprotein team - try an Ainsley Harriot Thai Chicken cup soup and work from that as it has a really good flavour for about 25g powder (obviously that has a negligible protein content) Could do better - but not vile. Does not live up to the impact whey flavours, maybe its just harder to do savoury stuff?
This stuff is the worst ever. Does not mix without blender, very powdery and teh tast is disgusting. Supposed to be beef flavour?? My shoes taste more like beef yuk.Goes Well With:bin liners
I have bought many products from My Protein, but this is by far the worst product I've tried. I ordered the Mediterranean Tomato, it tasted about as much tomato as my back-side. Mixing is a bit suspect but after reading the reviews the best way to mix is to pour a small amount of water in, mix to a paste and then keep adding water and mixing from there. I don't mind the slightly grainy texture, I don't mind the mixing problem, but the taste has to be addressed. Sorry My Protein, but this ones "not great", and that's being generous.
I can only comment on the thai green flavour which is great. Tastes just like the curry. The mixing is a bit lengthy but by the time I was drinking it it was fine. I think there have been some overly high expectations on previously reviews. It's like having a big cuppa soup but with the bonus of 23g of protein!
Absolutely loved the protein smoothie and dessert. But have to say the soup was very disappointing. Mix ability poor and had to blend but even very grainy. Taste was poor. Will be buying dessert again. But definitely not protein soup.
No offence intended myprotein but GOSH having one was HIDEOUS - AVOID AT ALL COST!! Bought two bags couldn't manage 1 tomato sachet. Will not be opening the Thai Green pack. Tastes of puke at 6am Friday Night after 10 bottles of whisky. In my opinion not intended for human/animal/plant/rubbish bag consumption.Goes Well With:a disgusting aftertaste lol
Tasted disgusting I only managed to get one.. The beef was really nice so thought I try a different one wish I never couldn't eat it and had to try and give it away to who ever dared
I think the soups are fantastic value for money. What I tried was brown rice with chicken breast cubed and a protein soup poured over. This actually makes what can be a dry meal very tasty.
Big fan of myprotein as I can always get the help and feedback needed before a purchase but this is the first product in dissatisfied with. No real taste and a horrible texture made this inedible and will just got to waste.
Was a little scepticle when I bought this product as I couldnt understand how a "soup in a mug" could be so impressively filling. I was extremely impressed, the taste was very good, the mixability could be improved but if you stick with it there is minimal residue. An excellent buy and perfect for anyone who has to put in extra desk time!Goes Well With:Thermo - Extreme
Tried the Mediterranean tomato. After 5 minutes of mixing it was still lumpy. didn't taste of tomato just tasted stale with a really clawing aftertaste. Worst product I've ever bought from My Protein. Just nasty. Sack your taste tester!Goes Well With:Absolutely nothing.
Mediterranean tomato has no flavour don't mix and my opinion not worth the purchase or unless you like no flavour and like drinking limps . They also sent me 1 less than supposed to sendGoes Well With:Nothing as has absolutely no flavour
Did not mix well, will not by again :(
Worst product I've ever used.. Ever. Followed all the instructions and just doesn't mix at all. Powder clumps immediately and all sits at the top. It genuinely is the worst thing I've ever bought, please do not waste your money on this like I did.Goes Well With:Nothing
Read a few reviews on this about not mixing very well... Here's the answer! Pour the whole sachet into a cup, add a tiny bit of boiling water, mix until wallpaper paste consistency, keep adding water until cup is full mixing in between. By the time the cup is full it's not got any lumps or any grains! Taken me three days but I genuinly believe that's the best way to mix it! Goes Well With:A bit of bread :)
The taste is as good as non-diet soups, no after taste, just delicious!
Expected it to taste like beef it was more like bland porridge
I bought this as an occasional replacement to my lunchtime banana impact Diet Whey mix. I generally use one a week to have as an alternative. I bought the beef flavour in bulk and a taste pack of the thai green curry. I prefer the beef one and it tastes similar to bovril to me so i dont mind. mixability isnt perfect but the lumps arent too horendous (i stir with a fork) it does take a little while to prep adding small amounts and letting it disolve first (so not the best if your rushing).
We ordered the tomato soup after reading some reviews and thinking it might taste the best. It was an orange colour when made and tasted to me terribly. I managed to have the first sachet, with the second I mixed it into homemade soup but I still couldn't stand the taste, so it really going to waste now. Wish I had just purchased a same size now to try.
having tried all but the beef flavour i can say tomato is my personal choice. it seems to have the best mix-ability. the chicken is too runny but perhaps with a different ratio it would mix better. the tomato seems to go best with 250ml of water. its not too thick and not too runny. personally i blend it up with an hand held blender, i think to mix it via a shaker cup or something like that would result in a lot of undissolved "bits" giving a gritty texture. the taste is pretty good but with the chicken or tomato expect to add a bit of salt just to help. its a great first step and it makes for a quick and easy meal but its not quite there yet in terms of taste.
Definitely an excellent product if you are after something quick and easy but a little different. The taste is good, maybe lacks a little bit of spice but I've added chilli powder myself and it was really good! The mixability isn't excellent and it can clump if you put too much of the mix in to the water at the one time, I'd recommend pouring it in over 4 goes and stirring in between. Even with that I'll definitely be ordering more!
Can't describe in words how disappointed I am with the Thai green curry, will never buy again and not sure if I wish to try other flavors as it was so so so tasteless, I just don't believe other flavors will make any difference.
MIXABILITY I've bought and consumed Beef, Chicken and Thai Curry. They all are reasonably mediocre in mixing, even if you follow the "directions" of mixing half the content of the packet into half of the desired liquid, letting it stir for 30 seconds, and then adding the other half (of both packet and liquid). Out of them the beef appears to be the one that is more mixable. TASTE Thai curry - stronger taste, bit spicy but fine overall. Chicken - smooth and chicken like. Beef - smells like beef, tastes ok. EFFECTIVENESS Effectiveness isn't really a factor here, this is basically whey protein mixed with artificial flavours/scents in a conveniently packet. It's a cozy (for colder weather) of getting your protein requirements. TIPS You don't need to boil water, you can just pour out water from a Nespresso machine and it will be hot enough for mixing the protein soup. You can also try this with oats, as they get soft in no time. No need to boil water, just use a nespresso.
Nicer than I expected it to be, I bought the tomato flavour, the macros are great and the flavour is also very nice. However like most packet soups you still find a few bits at the bottom but this doesn't really effect the drink. I would recommend it Goes Well With:Protein flat bread
Nicer than I expected it to be, I bought the tomato flavour, the macros are great and the flavour is also very nice. I would recommend it
I bought beef and the tomato, wasn't what I expected, doesn't mix well, needs a good stir for 10 mins, it has a funny texture and leaves a strange after taste, the more I've had the more used to it I've got, as it does make a great quick and easy to make snack, beef flavour is better but I won't buy them again.
On first try, after mixing (without trying it) I was left rather underwhelmed by it. There was basically enough to fit in a small cup - think a small cup-a-soup! However after tasting and finishing it all, I was left pleasantly satisfied and filled from it. For me, this works great as a late evening snack suppressant due to the savory taste and texture of it once I get sugar/food cravings, that a protein drink just cannot satisfy on it own. My wife likes this also for the same reasons, and finds it an easy hot office lunch too, as you only need a kettle!
bought the thai green curry flavor, tastes a lot better than expected and is a change from the usual protein shake. the soup is a bit on the thick side therefore would probably be an excellent base for making a high protein chicken curry.
The taste of the Beef and the Chicken soup is not bad at all, I add the powder to a cup of boiled water bit by bit stirring continuously which works better for me than pouring water on the powder. The finished soup has a rather powdery texture no matter how much water is added but that's the protein I guess and there is a good amount of protein for what in essence a cup-a-soup. I will buy again.
Ok I got tomato, it tastes fine, but has a strange texture, but not bad, does not mix well though it has taken me around 10 mins to stir the lumps out. Not exactly quick and easy but if you want a change, go for it. As I said it does the job, probably won't buy it again though.Goes Well With:lumps
Make no mistake this is just a thick soup that get you what you want. The taste is not bad at all but not great either. The bottom line is that this product is doing the job just fine and quick ;)
This soup was gorgeous it tasted exactly like Thai curry, less water makes it up lovely and thick!! Best instant soup I have tried.
I wasn't expecting much from these, but bought the Beef and Chicken as they were on offer. Just taken delivery (quick and efficient as usual!) and opened a Beef soup for a midday snack. Very impressed! The mixability is perhaps not as good as I'd like it to be, but the taste is superb. A great way of getting a protein hit and adding some savory flavour to otherwise quite sweet muffins and shakes.
Soup was very tasty and smelt great. Would mix in a bowl or jug next time as a mug doesn't allow for a good whisking which I think this really needs
