Despite the negative reviews I added a banana flavoured CarniPro to my basket. It was a gift last week if you spend over 60 euros so I stand to lose nothing. I got the package very fast as always. Mixability is flawless. In my opinion lots of people got in to the habit of buying whey protein, which is thinner than beef protein. Beef protein is dense and It needs much more shaking. Don't forget It! Taste is spicy because of the curcumin. It tastes like banana with curry sauce, and I definitely like It! So I suggest you that buy a sample and give it a try. I strongly recommend for those who can't consume other products by any reason.

Been looking for a whey alternative for some time having an intolerance to lactose and some dairy. I had tried soy protein and could not stomach the taste - even the flavoured shakes I tried were vile! I thought I'd give carnipro a go...it could never be as bad as soy so worth a try. Having read the reviews on here I didn't even bother trying to mix it via shaking and just went straight for the blender. It mixed perfectly into a thick shake. I much prefer whey thickness shakes as oppose to isolate so the thickness was right up my street. I went for vanilla flavour as chocolate flavours are often very hit and miss for me and as I like to often make pancakes with my protein, vanilla was the best choice. The flavour is gorgeous! Not like other vanilla shakes I have had, it's almost a cornflake kind of taste, very fine indeed! Defo recommend this for anyone with a lactose/dairy intolerance as it hasn't bloated be or made me feel nauseous at all! Use a blender to mix and you'll be reet

The powder itself is great: really good macros without the digestive problems associated with whey. I went for unflavoured. The taste isn't repulsive, but it is slightly beefy. The real problem here is the mixability - as everyone says, it is pretty terrible with water and a shaker. The powder itself is very sticky, so it forms into lumps and foam. I tried leaving it to settle and it was even worse - it looked horrendous. HOWEVER, for anyone who doesn't want to invest in a blender, here is my tip: use warm water rather than cold. Not only does it vastly improve the mixability (virtually no foam, virtually no lumps after stirring), but it also improves the taste. It is quite malty, and is not dissimilar to Horlicks. I've even taken to putting a shot of decaf espresso in mine, and it tastes absolutely fine. I'm not sure what going too hot would do to the protein content (if anything), but warm water works a treat for me. Good thing too as I have 5kg to get through. Once you've overcome the mixing hurdle, this is a great product.

I got the banana flavour - which tasted fine. However be careful when mixing as the yellow colour can stain your clothes - does it really need to have food colouring in it? It doesn't mix well as it gets very frothy, which stops the process.

I have had varied success with this product. I have found that it doesn't mix well with very cold water and ends up lumpy. If however you use room temperature water it mixes perfectly. The taste of the chocolate is similar to other protein products I have tried- but is a little sweet for my liking, but i can live with that. I would buy this again.

Short and sweet. I've tried banana and vanilla flavours - both taste really good. The mixability is awful, but I always use a mixer so... I'm used to it. Sadly if you complain about the taste of any carni product (not just myprotein) then you've likely not tried any others - they all taste similar. That's what hydrogelised beef protein tastes like, I can safely say the my protein ones taste way better than a lot of time other more expensive brands.

As someone with a true dairy allergy, not just a lactose intolerance, finding protein I can have is hard work. My protein offer the best variety that I have found with a few different options. I ordered samples of the vanilla and banana flavors and 1 kg of the strawberry. The results of this product are great, just what you would expect from whey. The taste however is not so great nor is the mixability. If you put the CarniPro in your shaker with either water or milk you will struggle to get a lump free shake. I did however use a nutribullet and that did the job great it mixed it all fine, so if you have a blender i would suggest using one. When I first tried the different flavours, honestly I thought they were disgusting. The flavours taste very artificial, and you get an aftertaste of beef (yes really!!). Even when adding fruit or other substances I found it hard to remove the beefy artificial taste (this was the same in all flavours). So if you have a dairy allergy or lactose intolerance this product is great for building mass and for results, but if mixability and taste makes the difference then personally I would advise this product is not for you. On the other hand MyProtein's Soy Protein Isolate tastes much better and gives just as good results although the mixability isn't much better, but this is now my regular protein and I would advise this over the CarniPro from my experience.

Goes Well With:

NutriBullet or any other blender. I would use water over milk personally because the taste will be just the same k so I wouldn't waste milk, cheaper to just use water.

I use Carnipro as I'm sensitive to dairy, I have tried vanilla and banana and I prefer the vanilla, the taste is not the best but it's not bad. The powder mixes ok (improved since my first batch) but it does need a good vigorous shake and it's worth letting it stand for a few mins and reshake before drinking. Overall it's a great product that I will buy again.

I've been told to use this as part of a plan I'm following, I was always a whey kinda guy. My first time mixing up a carnipro shake was a disaster with powder stuck to the lid of my shaker and an indigestible amount of lumps. No amount of shaking would rid the lumps so I just necked the shake and chewed a couple of lumps. I soon discovered my shaker was too small and to get a good smooth shake I needed a larger shaker with more liquid and room to shake. Once I'd figured that out I was laughing. Nice smooth, thick protein shake and although it's not a vanilla flavour as such I won't be going back to whey isolate I'm now a convert. I'm using this while cutting at the minute and am happy with the results I'm seeing while using carnipro. I do find I have a bit more wind than usual though!

Great tasting (banana) protein and is a great lactose free alternative to whey. No aftertaste and the banana flavour is good without being over powering. The only down side to this is the mixing. It is quite sticky and forms quite a lot of froth after shaking but this disappears after about 20 minutes. I find the best way to mix it is to add it bit by bit with shaking in between because it is hard to get it all to dissolve if you add in the full scoop at once.It blends really well in a smoothie and tastes fantastic with some peanut butter or chocolate powder. I can't compare the effectiveness to whey as I cannot use it but I found the results using CarniPro to be quite good.

Read other reviews and opted for the unflavoured so i can add to it accordingly. mixing it with one tablespoon of cocoa powder and it does the trick. It mixes well if you follow the correct amounts. I agree that this may not taste brilliant as is, yet the addition of a few flavour drops makes this taste delicious; in addition to it providing great health benefits and a good amount of protein. Beef isolate leaves me less bloated and I am convinced I am stronger on it (may be due to creatine in beef). Will buy again

Ive used MyProtein for years and tried a good mixture of isolates, total protein and non isolated. Always got Strawberry flavour and always been happy. THIS WAS NOT. First time trying this, it has a weird colour compared to the previous. It doesn't mix well and has a strong distinct after taste and doesn't taste as good as previous. As other review mentioned is a good protein source, just buy isolate or something else.... don't punish yourself to lump, foamy tarnished flavoured with Carni. Save your money, I'm struggling to get through it and mixing with my isolated to make just about drinkable.

After becoming sensitive to having chocolate in an evening, after already not being great with dairy, I decided to try out some non cocoa options, and Vanilla CarniPro seemed a reasonable choice. It was an complete surprise when one scoop with 300mls of water mixed in the blender like an absolute dream, it was hard to believe it wasn't made with icecream, really thick and the taste was right on the money. Can't wait to try the other flavours too, especially if the textures are the same. I haven't experienced cramping since using CarniPro, even after taking breaks and hitting the gym hard again, although it could be the BCAA's and Creatine working well with it too. I would recommend this to anyone who bloats with the dairy options, this is certainly an excellent alternative.

So long whey protein! No more bloated feeling. No more lactose intolerance. Carnipro is just what I was waiting for. I just wished I discovered it sooner. I love the strawberry flavour. Usually I do not like very sweet things, and the strawberry flavour is sweet, but its actually very nice. I mix it just with water. I use about 300mls of water to 50g of powder in a hand shaker. This makes a nice thick shake and I found that if you use less water you wont get the froth that most people are complaining about. Yes, it does not mix fantastic, but I really don't mind the odd bits that did not mix in. I have been using whey protein for years and struggled to get it down and after a while my body just refuses to let me take it without me gagging. I've almost finished my 1kg of Carnipro and I'm already buying my next bag. Do yourself a favour, and go and read about the facts of beef protein v whey. You will too wonder why you bother with whey.

This is literally one of the worst protein powders I have ever used. On the plus side it seems effective and it is digested easily and without problems. But it is almost unusable. If you are looking for a non dairy powder you could try Soy protein isolate, it's much better than this. I normally mix protein powders with water and instant oats on my blender and this is the only thing that saved me when using CarniPro. Mixability It is almost impossible to mix with a blender, let alone in a shaker and don't even think of mixing it with a spoon. This powder is very hydrophobic forming nothing but sticky lumps once in water. These lumps are like glue and will stick to anything and especially on a spoon. Adding oats certainly helps mixing this thing but still you have to blend it, let it soak for at least 15', and then blend it again before you can drink it. Most of the times I ended up drinking lumps anyway. However one time I made the mistake of blending it with water only (no oats) and then came the foam. Terrible foam that is impossible to get rid off. So this definitely puts the gym shaker off the table too, unless you are willing to drink a bubble bath. Taste I bought the vanilla flavoured CarniPro. It was not good... It certainly could be much worse though. When I first tasted it, it had a mildly pleasant taste, but that lasted for a split second and what followed was a strong metallic aftertaste. Once again mixing in oats helped mask that aftertaste a lot. Still I had to brush my teeth after every shake. I will not buy this product again. I believe the whole purpose of having a protein shake is saving time and making your life a little easier. The process of making a shake became as time consuming as having an actual meal.

I have trouble with dairy based protein so thought this would be an excellent substitute. It tastes great... once you can get it to mix. I really struggled to get it lump free in a shake & it also did not make very good protein treats (mug cakes/pancakes). From previously using xanthan gum in cooking I think this is what makes the powder so difficult to mix.

I didn't know quite what to expect given some of the reviews on here, but all in all I'm very pleasantly surprised. I've just ordered my third bulk delivery and one of the main reasons I've kept going back is that a few times I've been away from home for a week or two, and both times unable to pack this stuff, and I definitely noticed various differences. Firstly, I noticed a slight shortfall in gains expected for those periods, and secondly, I noticed a change in my skin and hair's oiliness: without the beef protein both had gone back to being as oily as they were prior to my taking this regularly. The latter must have happened without my even noticing; that was, until I went without it, so nice side effect. I've only tried vanilla and banana, but both are very tasty. Regarding the mixability: I use a blender and usually blast for a few seconds with the powder in any liquid and solids, scrape the sides of the blender with a spoon for a few seconds, then blend again for a few seconds, and voila! Not too much hassle at all.

I don't understand all the negative reviews at all, I'm currently using the vanilla and the banana flavours and although the smell is a bit meaty it doesn't transfer to the taste at all. The mixability in a normal shaker takes a bit of effort but if you add 250ml of almond milk and give it a good shake then drink some down and about halfway through give it another shake there are no issues. It also mixes really well in a blender at home with added fruit or cocoa powder to change it up a tad. Try it for yourself abd I think you'll be plesently surprised.

The beef protein itself is very lumpy and times and doesn't mix well. I've found the best way is to put your scoop of protein into a shaker, then add roughly 4 shot size glasses of water (Doesn't sound a lot but it does work). Shake vigorously for 20-30 seconds, then add the desired amount of water U would normally use. Shake again for 10 seconds, then voila! That's the smoothest you're gonna get it.

So I decided to give this a try after careful consideration, must admit I didn't expect much from this protein. Especially since almost all reviewers are complaining about the horrible mixability, which is true. This protein is very very sticky, I mean sticky... Like glue. My first attempt was a disaster, so was the second one. Both times I ended up with just clumps floating in the water... I don't give up this easy so after my workout today I decided to use my hand-blender. Did it work? Absolutely, not a single clump left. Nice thick and creamy texture, flavour could do with some improvement but as a person who can't handle normal or soy protein this is a god send. Please DON'T give up on this protein just yet!

I have consumed whey isolate earlier but decided to move away from whey as it was giving me pimples. I purchased this and it was absolutely frustrating. The powder looks and smells excellent but as soon as you add water, it forms sludges and lumps which are practically unbreakable, no matter how much you shake or stir. Nothing can dissolve this into water. I had a time consuming process to press the lumps hard with the mug's inner walls with spoon to make it a paste and stir again, and make the big lumps into small ones but they continue to exist. In order to solve this problem, I take dry beef protein powder, milk powder, and some chocolate powder and mix them well... only then add water because it forms lumps only with water. It solves the problem though it takes a good deal of time BUT ANOTHER CONCERN IS THAT, it gives me a lose motion the next morning. It happens almost 75% of the times so I know it was not well digested and my body could not take the nutrients. A guy I know also purchased it the same time and he also says he cannot digest and ends up with lose motion always. In one word - just DO NOT BUY THIS.

I had high hopes for this product after all the hype about beef protein however when mixing in a shaker you must have the shaker grid in there to split it up because this protein clumps a lot! Also I made a shake around 30 minutes ago and the froff still hasn't gone down, I had 400ml of water in the shaker cup and now the froff is at the 700ml mark this happens every time I make a shake.

Masses of Protein, typical beef mixability - there is a work around

I have been using Carni-pro a while, in particular the chocolate variety. The shake to me does taste good and my pallet doesn't really detect and after taste. I do think this shake provides a great hit of protein after a workout especially if you have it on hand straight after you are done. However, it is not all plain sailing. The mixability of this powder is poor at best. I have a 700ml myProtein mesh shaker as my go to flask. With the recommendation of one 25g scoop per 150-250ml of water it just doesn't mix without forming large lumps that stick to the bottom of the shaker. IE: Wasted protein, wasted powder!!! I have found a work around to this, and it is to use only 50g of powder to 550-600ml of water. As a result it mixes very well if mixed the night before a gym session. I typically mix my shakes in the evening and I am in the gym by very early morning before work. I have not had any issues with this method even with introducing Creapture to the mix (10g) per a serving. I still think Carni pro is great though. I find that Whey shakes make me feel very bloated and uncomfortable about 20-30 minutes after taking them. I enjoy the taste of Carni pro and the volume of protein in the powder is a big win for me. I want a strong, reliable hit of protein in the changing room straight after my workout and this powder easily meets that demand. All beef proteins tend to have poor mixability, but Carnipro offer great bang for the buck. I'll keep buying as long as it is available, its firmly my favourite non Whey shake!

I bought this product to use as a Meal Replacement Shake as I am intolerant to dairy. I am really disappointed with the product - it is almost impossible to mix with anything. I've tried cold water, hot water, milk, using the shaker, hand blending, mixing with a fork etc and still no luck. The lumps of protein don't mix with the liquid which means the shake tastes like water and the lumps get stuck to your teeth. Not pleasant at all and am really unhappy with it :(

Was very pleased with this protein. It arrived very quick as well. The taste (banana) is absolutely amazing, taste like real stuff. Only thing is really hard to shake and get rid off lumps in a normal shaker but if you blended then its ok. I use it mainly to bake protein pancakes and muffins, so it works really well. Overall, great product!!!!

Use Boiling Water to Mix.

I find it easier to use boiling water and mix like gravy, put the supplement in first, then add a small amount of boiling water and mix into a firm paste with a fork, once there add some more water and mix again, keep repeating this until the desired amount of water to supplement ratio is gained, (I use 60g and 220ml or water, I like it thick, which I think goes down better), when you've put in the amount of water you want, then leave the mixture to settle before mixing again, (so the mixture isn't cloudy), the froth can be deceptive, (makes you put less or sometimes more water than you want,) once settled make sure you have the right amount of water, give a real last good mix with the fork, then leave to cool slightly, (or until it's not to hot so it doesn't burn when you drink it,) then all you have to do is drink it and enjoy the benefits!! This can be time consuming but hey, as long as it works right!! Hope this helps!

I used myprotein for pretty much all my bodybuilding needs, and as I don't eat dairy, I found their Vegan Blend to be my 'goto' protein supplement. Someone had recommended beef protein to me so I said I'd give it a shot and I'm kicking myself as I have actually just wasted €40.00 on Carnipro. I have had some tough to mix proteins in my day and never complained, but this went below and beyond all levels of mixability. Basically, you can only mix a half a scoop/serving into 750mls of water to get something remotely drinkable, and lumps still stick to your teeth and to the side of the shaker even after about five minutes of stirring and virgorous shaking! This is a nightmare after finishing an intense training session, as I have to make four shakes (five if you include the fact I can't mix in my Karboyln and Aminos as they just turn the Carnipro to something resembling wallpaper paste) and wind up spending the next two hours bursting for a pee, due to 3 litres of water in about ten minutes. I love Myprotein, I really do, and I spend the guts of 100 a month on their products but this is the worst supplement I have ever used and they really let their customers down on this one and I feel like switching to the other mob. I don't have a blender, nor should I be expected to fork out an extra 50 or 60 quid to buy a blender just to accommodate this protein shake.

I bought the product because I am lactose intolerant, but was disappointed by the very poor mixability. It sticks to the shaker and it does not dissolve that good. You have to shake it 2-3 minutes to get something decent. Also, lots of foam. The taste is ok, i don't remember a bad aftertaste; have tried banana, chocolate and vanilla. I have been using it about 1 year, and it's efficient. It is more consistent than the normal whey protein (milk), but you also have to add more water (400-450 ml for two scoops). I changed it this month with Total Protein, I got fed up with the mixability. Not a bad product, I recommend it for the results, but ONLY if you can go over the mixability issue.

I tried the chocolate flavour for now, but it tastes really good, I can say it tastes better than Carnivor from Musclemeds. I don't know what other people's problems are with mixability, but it mixes well with 200ml water. My only problem with Myprotein is, that they are giving the same 2 spoons with all the products, so you need to use a scale to get the exact serving size.

Maybe it falls into the "love it or hate it" category as I've seen a bunch of very negative reviews about this one, but I personally love it and will definitely buy it again. Some people claimed it has a "meaty" taste but that's not really true; the taste was vaguely familiar to me when I first tried it, then I realized, gelatin! That's what it tastes like, like gelatin (which is 98% protein too, so no big surprise), not like meat - I think people imagine the meat taste because they know it's made from meat. But it's a distinct taste and I can see some people will not like it. It's a bit like dyeing my hair with henna: some people love the smell of it, others say henna stinks - but you need to try for yourself whether you like it or not,it's the only way to find out. Yes, it is a bit sticky and tends to form lumps when added to liquid, I therefore gave one star less for mixability although it's not a problem for my personal purposes since I usually use protein supplements to enhance some of my regular food, such as yogurt and granola, instead of mixing shakes in addition to it (I do this on rare occasions only, when traveling). For this reason I seek out supplements that contain only what I really need, which is high quality protein and as little carbs as possible, therefore usually unflavored, and for these personal criteria CarniPro comes out the #1 winner!

With Beef Protein, it is usually mixability that disappoints. The taste is great, the effectiveness is great so there is nothing else to complain about. Unless MP do something about the thickness and the lumps that are produced after mixing, I am afraid I will not be buying this product again. Also, I am under the impression that my MP mixer has slightly turned yellow because I don't wash it immediately after use, which is never the case with other protein powders. Please MP, do something about the mixability because I really want to make another order soon. Cheers!
